Griezmann is a top top player but why would we strengthen our strongest area when we're light in midfield and defence, and weak between the sticks, it makes no sense.

Griezman is also Strong as a attacking midfielder though I’d say his strongest position is the striking position. He is very vastile and would fit into klopps perfered style of attacking play BUT I don’t see it happening. I think the media saw the reports that we are after someone that hasn’t been linked in the recent past with us and Griezman fits that bill quiet well. I think there was interest when he played for real sociadad but I haven’t seen anything since then.

I’m going to be honest. Who wouldn’t want griezmann in their team. I don’t care if we are in good shape in regards to forwards. Griezman is not the player you pass up on if you can get him.

That being said, surely we can’t get him. Let’s
Move on lol.

I have to say i would be disappointed if it was griezmann. It would reek of the poor transfer planning that happened when suarez left, spending the money on players we don't need or fit our system. The coutinho money, if spent frugally, could probably fit another centre back, a Can replacement, a coutinho replacement and a goalie. Thankfully i think thar is just media rubbish and im going to be sat here dreaming of an isco or thiago all january.

Yes FSG OUT if they buy Griezmann! Come off it, if Klopp wants him and thinks he can make it work then you go after a player like him. Yes other areas need addressing but that will come in the summer.

You need to replace quality with quality, you can spend the Coutinho money on 2 new players, but if you spend it on 4-5 new players you are just repeating the same mistakes that Liverpool, Spurs and Everton made when they sold Suarez, Bale and Lukaku.

Anonymous, you have a point with regard to transfer planning, but, has already been alluded to, Griezmann is not the sort of player you pass up on if there is a genuine chance of signing him.
As a club we don't often get the chance to sign established players of his quality, so I think comparing this with previous times, wherein we signed poor players such as Balotelli and Markovic, just doesn't work. Griezmann is a truly outstanding player, and would make our team better.

Anonymous, actually I think what you're suggesting is most reminiscent of how we (and spurs) wasted money in the past.

Replacing PC with 4 or 5 players like you suggest is what we tried to do last time with LS and Spurs with GB.

1 signing that goes straight into the teams and compliments our current style to avoid us changing too much mid season - that's what we need to do think.
