Good day fellow Reds and Eds,

Pretty enticing weekend match ahead.
Personally, I'd like to see Gini get a start in midfield this wknd.
We're going to need to be disciplined defensively, esp on the counter, but feel we could use his pace.
Curious about everyone's thoughts.
Eds do you rate him as a starter?
(If so -- over anyone in particular? )

Have great one!

{Ed001's Note - no, he is not doing enough to deserve a game.}

Appreciate the reply Ed001.

I'm a fan of Gini and seems to do well against the bigger teams. I think seeing as we're likely to be a little more compact than against other teams, Can and Wijnaldum might not be a bad pairing in the middle. I'm not a huge fan of Can and his head might not be totally right at the moment but if they keep as a pair and stay switched on, with Oxlade just in front, they can give the energy we need.

Our midfield is in a bad way at the moment. Hendo is injured, Can refuses to even show for the ball. And we have no one else capable of playing the holding role effectively. I'd play a flat 3 of Wiji, Milner and Lallana.

If we don't buy a defensive/ holding midfielder this month I'll be surprised. And I'd have to question the clubs ambition for this season.

Ox, Milner and Gini for me. Lallana isn't fit enough, and Can isn't in the right frame of mind.

We're not going to out play Silva and De Bruyne, but we can out work them. Not many teams try and get at City though. It will be a shock to their system when we turn up and give them a game.

I’d rather give Lallana 60 odd minutes or even start Can than play milner and gini together. I wouldn’t play milner in midfield in any case.

Can, Gini and Ox.

{Ed025's Note - for me thats a very weak midfield by liverpool standards squizza, who creates the chances there?, you would be better with ...curly, larry and mo..

I’m not saying it’s good enough just who I think he will select . definitely a lack of creativity there but don’t see many other options.

{Ed025's Note - i tend to agree squizza mate..

i’m not a fan of Gini, said it many times on here (on my lost acc) that 75% of the games he plays I don’t even realize he is on the pitch.
don’t get me wrong in the 25% he makes himself known, he is everywhere and does quite a good job. But the rest of the time he isn’t and I don’t like the odds of him showing up against city 😂.

Personally I'd like to see Lallana, Gini, and Can.
But I have the feeling Klopp will want to give Milner the armband for this match.
So I think we may see Lallana, Milner, and Can again.

Still cracking up at the "larry, mo, curly" comment!
Nice one, Ed025

Feel bad for guys on the bench who never get any game time though.
I know Huey, Dewey, and Lewie are just chomping at the bit to get on the pitch. :)

{Ed025's Note - well you are a mickey mouse outfit otter.. :)

Oh Comon Ed025 you’ve been against Ox from the beginning. I agree our midfield can improve but even near perfection such as myself can technically “improve” 😋.

{Ed025's Note - to be honest Tj ox has done better than i thought, hes still not top quality but has not let you down yet and thats all credit to him mate..

Bahhh! Ed025, hilarious! 😂
This is true, just not sure what's stranger to folks.
Trying to shake my hand while I have my giant white gloves on?
Or when they find out my dad is cryogenically frozen?
:)

{Ed025's Note - good stuff mate..
