He was only decent back then, but didn’t look at all like the powerhouse he’s become today. It’s what you’d call good development. As for Salah, pretty much the same thing.

aoe What? hehehe (this is only banter with MK btw)

He was only decent back then? amazing then that guy Malak said he would become one of the world best players if he was only decent. can't say i personally watched many of his Basel games so.

I'm sure lots of people predicted he'd be amazing. After all, according to some every player liverpool don't buy is amazing -type in Renato Sanches and see what some people were saying about him (and Swansea getting him 'ahead' of us) this summer.

He was outstanding in every team he played in, besides Chelsea, of course.

Yeah I'll admit i got that wrong! He used to be very weak on the ball and have a terrible touch though; like it was really bad. Roma are my Italian team and i was unhappy when they signed him. However, whilst his finishing is still erratic, he is just so good in every other aspect that it doesn't matter. For every clear cut chance he misses, he makes another 3 for himself!

He did look very average for most of his career up to 2015/ 16 though. It was like a switch flipped and he's gone from a sprinter to an absolutely lethal forward. Just goes to show that you should never write off a player at 21 years old if they're not already banging goals in every week. Some players are slow burners. I'm just glad we happen to have Salah in what will likely be the peak period of his career.
