Might be a stupid or simple question ed, concerns both VVD and coutinho and many others, when a player hands in a transfer request, how long is that request valid for. I believe if they hand in a request they lose a substantial bonus/ payoff when they sign for a new team so with both VVD and coutinho handing in a request last summer but both not moving until January would the request have been automatically retracted at the end of the summer window so they both receive their additional payment or does it stay on their contract until they personally retract it at any given time. Was just curious how these requests work once submitted.

{Ed002's Note - The Transfer Request does not carry a period of validity and in pretty much all cases stay in place until the club and player part company. The player forgoes 5% of the transfer fee so it is in the club's interest not to have it withdrawn.}

Westwood, We were going to sell him in the summer as Klopp was fed up with his antics BUT could not get Lemar or a suitable replacement in on time. That is why he stayed. This was common knowledge on this forum at the time. I hope this bit of info helps.
