Ed001, we'll do our absolute best to try and win that trophy for your man. So sorry for your loss though.

What i will say, is you should be incredibly proud of what you've done here.

This isn't just a normal football forum. We raise money for charity, you provide us with genuine knowledge and transfer information, we have a laugh, we argue etc. The charity game is the culmination of everything you have done. You've touched the lives of every single regular on this site, even if only in a minor way. For me personally, you gave my dying dream of being a football writer a shred of hope, simply by giving me a platform to practice on! I will be forever grateful.

You're a legend, and all the hard work you've done, and all the humility you've shown, is why you are in a position to dedicate an entire charity game to your late friend. He would be proud, and you should be too!

{Ed001's Note - I really don't know what to say to that. It is not often I am at a loss for words! I love doing this site and it is what I would do in my spare time if I hadn't started it myself. It has also given me the same chance as you MKS, and so I am glad to give you a chance, hopefully it will lead to a career for you.}

No special words needed Ed. Everyone just wants to let you know you're not alone in your time of hardship. You've earned the friendship of us all. Thank you again though mate!

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much mate.}

MK top post, sometimes we don't know how we impact others. I honestly hope you make it as a football writer and believe you can. Never give up on your dream especially when you are as talented as you have demonstrated. In regards to Ed1, I have already said how I feel about him just a nice decent human being who makes it enjoyable to come to this site. I have been reading this forum for probably 10 years or thereabouts and its a place to escape for when life gets tough for me and a place where I get to talk to fellow red fans.

There is certainly more of a community feel to this forum than others.

Only 7 days into 2018 and MK delivers post of the year. Stuff like this puts it into perspective, as much as we love football, its only a game. I think we speak on behalf of everyone in saying you have our support in this difficult time ed001. Here's to hoping we can raise a shed tonne of money for the nurses in his honour.
