It was an fa cup Derby. As a unit, we played well, I think all players played their part in the victory, I think a red card should have been shown, if not because firmino could have really got injured, more so because the way he was pushed into the crowd, the fans could have been injured, at that point, it should be a simple decision for the ref, all in all, good performance by all 14 players, bring on United in the next round.

{Ed025's Note - a yellow possibly welsh..

A yellow would of been fair, was surprised nothing was shown though. Another ref might of taken offence to being grabbed but as a whole the ref dealt with the situation ok players also helped diffuse the situation.

{Ed025's Note - very much so WY..

Definitely a yellow ed.
No action? Ridiculous!
More amateur refereeing from professional referees.

{Ed025's Note - i agree macko...but i dont think the reds can complain about the refs decisions tonight mate.. :)

😂😂 how is that a yellow card? An off the ball shove into the crowd. Yeah yellow card for that. 😂

Expect retrospective action 25 😉.

Was a yellow but who cares. Let’s wait until the outcome of what Firmino might of said now. Hopefully all just get forgotten about now.

Referee hat on, it was excessive force (red card), it meant to harm him, so also violent conduct (red card) . the ball was dead and it wasnt needed. its a straight red. ticks the boxes im afraid.

Its Shearer that made me giggle, its not a penalty its a contact sport yet when Lovren touched Calvert the other week it was a penno as you can't put your hand on someone in the box, make your mind up lad, i don't think anyone has a clue anymore!

According to Portuguese speakers on social media, the following “CE TA LOUCO? CE TA LOUCO? FILHO DA PUTA, ” which translates as: “Are you crazy? Are you crazy? Son of a bitch! ”.

{Ed025's Note - i cant see all the fuss myself.."handbags" for me..

Issue is pundits are there to create stories rather than say it as they see it.

As I mentioned it’s hard to watch Shearer/ Owen/ and similar because they were unedeniavly great players get don’t seem to understand the game/ rules? Maybe they were just told ‘here’s the ball, put it between the posts’ and it was easy for them to comprehend? It was a definite pen and due to an accumulation of things Holgate was lucky to stay on. He suffers with Wilshire syndrome t seems, small man thinks he can fight the world as he earns a a lot of money. Kennedy is a far classier player. Was good to see Everton actually have a go though, I am happy we beat them but it’s good to see our neighbours in better form. Better team won, justice done and hopefully we can push on.

Ed25, I agree yellow for his push on firmino, my argument is, he pushed firmino into the crowd after the ball was dead, firmino was off balance after the first nudge therefore could not control how he went into the crowd, for me, as soon as you deliberately do something that put any one member of the crowd at risk, I think that is a straight red and that's what he done by pushing firmino into the crowd, interested to hear your opinion 25,im not or never have been red tinted glasses but studs to the face of a crowd member, which could have happened, is wrong.

{Ed025's Note - and if a player kicked the ball into the crowd and it broke someones nose should the player be done for assault welsh?...all these do gooders in the world are making people nervous to do anything spontaneous for fear of repercussions, he gave him a push ffs and i know where theres blame theres a claim culture is taking over the world but im not buying into it mate..

Spot on, Benny. Under the rules, a player grabbing the ref like Holgate did is a yellow (in fact, touching the ref is a yellow in of itself) and shoving Firmino and endangering the safety of a player the way Holgate did, is another yellow. Result: Holgate should have been sent off.

{Ed025's Note - or shot at dawn...put in stocks, or castrated...my head hurts..

Agree 100% with Benny, FA should take retrospective action. He’ll be lucky to only get 3 games for me.

{Ed025's Note - the ref seen it and took no action ron, half you bloody lot should watch darts if you dont like contact sports..
