I've said it in a reply previously but it's so nice to see the introduction of Karius, VVD and Gomez to bring a calmness to our backline. For years we have had GKS and Defenders who constantly panic and make mistakes. We need these types of players. Still a long way to go but positive signs.

A bit too casual at times though. Karius was too relaxed at times and Gomez and Van Dijk both git lucky a couple of times. At the end of the day though, we won.

Our penalty was soft but in the modern day that's a foul. Anywhere else on the pitch, nobody bats an eyelid. We'll, unless it's Bolasie rugby tackling Matip. Not that Matip would've got back anyway though. He tracks back at about 2mph.

In the end, the only goal without controversy was scored by the £75m man. What a way to start your Liverpool career! Thunderbirds are go!

Except he moves at snail pace. Hopefully he be coached out of that.
U less we are going to sign a top keeper then suggest Ward stays back up and Karius gets a go. Would get rid of migs.
Van Dijk looks superb though and Gomez looks a brilliant player. I’m impressed with Robertson too.

Karius is possibly the only goalkeeper worse than Mignolet in the league. Sorry to be negative but he is just a nervous wreck everytime he plays. He spends far too much time posting selfies and worrying about his hair.

Would your rather a keeper to come out and lash it into the stand or a player to play it into no man's land? This only creates momentum for the opposition. I know I wouldn't. It's exactly what we need. Yes perhaps a little casual on a couple of occasions but it's the way forward.

Karius was looked nervy and indecisive tonight, and I'm not really sure why because I thought he'd generally played well so far this season, so he shouldn't really be doubting himself.

I'd still play him instead of Migs if I were in charge anyway.

Sorry but Karius is not a nervous wreck. I think perhaps you're not used to our backline trying to play because this is what we have been used to since the days of Hanson. Karius tries to play but perhaps is a bit too casual on a couple of occasions but as Redwin says above, hopefully he can be coached or just learn the pace of English football more.

Incredibly negative Les, and without substance.

I think the karius being slow thing is harsh, he needs a run of games for confidence, there is a very good keeper in there and as fans we need to give him time, look how many mistakes migs makes. We are only nervous as we are a) new to it and b) have t trusted a keeper since the first few years of Reina.

karius was calm? Please tell me when. Too flat footed and handed for their goal. Great win tonight. As if anyone doesn't know though, we are desperately, desperately, desperately weak in the GK department.

Very uncalled for in my opinion Karius was playing with a new centre back who is far more vocal and organiser more than Lovren, Matip and Klavan. They just need to get use to each other and both will be fine. All of Van Dijk, Gomez and Karius have lapses in concentration but in time this will hopefullly be ironed out.

Walkout for there goal the whole team were all over the place and gylfi put it away with a calm finish, karius at times played the ball out from the back, yes he looked rusty but after a run of games I think he can be a very good keeper imo.

{Ed0333's Note - I like Karius. Much prefer him to Migs. He needs games to iron out his the wrinkles in his game. The more game time he has the more confidence he will get and the more consistent he will become. Classy keeper in my opinion.

Okay I'll say it again Walkon

How come no one has mentioned the ball he dropped when trying to catch a cross? Migs would have. been slaughtered for that but golden boy gets lauded as the answer to all our problems. Good job VVD bollocked him a couple of times to get his arse in gear and come out for the ball. A half decent keeper would have anticipated that himself and been in position.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m pretty sure he was fouled when he dropped that cross I stand corrected though. I like the golden boy moniker it suits him

Look at De Gea when he first came to Utd, they all wanted him gone. I say give him the rest of the season, what’s the worse that can happen if we don’t give him a chance. mignolet in net!
And if he hasn’t proven he is the answer then we dip into the market for a replacement.

{Ed0333's Note - totally agree mate

I'm sure he caught it but it hit someone's head on the way down. These things happen.

This wasn't a performance to convince Klopp to make Karius first choice but he didn't make any serious blunders. Rack it up as a learning experience and move on.

Spot on, Ed. Karius will NEVER show his potential and get a true understanding with his back line if he keeps playing once every month. That is just insane. Those bashing him need to take a day off. The kid needs to be playing full time so he can get to grips with the PL and his defenders to forge a good relationship. Playing once every month will not make him better and those judging him on that, need to give their heads a wobble.

Karius is not the answer VVD had to scream at him to sweep up that is not good people.
