We might as well stick with what we have imo if Mahrez is going to be considered as a replacement. He is a winger and not as good as Mane or Salah so why do we need him?

What we need is a playmaker, someone pulling the strings picking the passes and scoring bangers. We have a work horse midfield and decent forwards already and with Phil gone we will come up against teams with brick walls again and struggle to break them down.

Eds has said that we have had a very long time to seek a replacement ever since the Summer when the club were aware that Phil wanted out yet here we are scratting around with what seems like very few options. And showing interest in Lemar who's owner has said he won't sell him full stop.

We are also going to have a half arsed Emre playing now as he is also off in the Summer.

If we don't bring in someone to replace Phil my fear is it could well disrupt our season in a big way.

Think you need to have a little more faith mate can't seeing how coutinho leaving now and Can staying disrupts the season it is not like they have been our two best players this season
I think we will be fine.

Klopp seems to be playing the long game - waiting for VVD, patience for Keita. I hope if Coutinho leaves we don’t go for a knee jerk option. We can survive with Lallana and Ox in the attacking midfield if required. I’m more worried about Hendos injury and our reliance on Can without much back up deeper.

I would prefer to get the right player in even if it means waiting till the summer than get a squad filler in Jan if Coutino goes.

Quality over quantity. Surely we have learned our lesson.

If you look at our forward line they constantly move/ swap/ interchange, they aren’t static, Mahrez could fit that. Can will put as much effort in as he has all season, he so known his options and his likely choice, this isn’t news to him. It’s a World Cup year everybody will try anyway. So much misery on here we’ve done well lately made strides in fixing a key issue in signing VVD yet we’re still moaning?

Half arsed Emre playing? In his head he’s known all season this is his last and the player has not once given less than maximum effort required. Re watch the Klavan winner against Burnley and you watch Can celebrating then come back and tell me that’s half arsed!

I agree with your post, we shouldn't go for Mahrez if that's our only option but have faith in Klopp as he seems to only being in the players he wants. I am not panicking, as we haven't sold Coutinho just yet and its not like we didn't have since summer to identify who we want in to replace him.

To say it won’t be disruptive is very short sighted. Coutinho has directly contributed to 20 goals this season in League and Champions League, is literally our only real consistent threat in free kicks and shooting from distance, that’s not even including goals that he had provided a key pass for, there isn’t anyone in our squad that has the same skill set or ability. As for Can his head is now in Turin as it has been for the last few weeks and there’s no way that he would compromise that if it meant injury, as such it’s obvious because he’s pulling out of 50/ 50 challenges and not really giving 100%. So having losing one key player is bad enough but having one who isn’t really pulling their weight then yes, that’s a massive disruption.

Mahrez has excellent playmaking ability that would work well for us were Coutinho to leave. If Klopp can get him playing at his top level, he will be an excellent signing for us.

I prefer we get our top target in Lemar though. Looks special. I hope.

But if Klopp goes for Mahrez, I think he'll do better than you think.

Klopp learnt his lesson i think, when he couldn't get Zielinski, panicked, and ended up with Wijnaldum.

If he wants Mahrez, it won't be a knee jerk reaction. It'll be bloody stupid in my opinion, but I'll trust in Klopp.

Lemar is a top talent, Mahrez is not. Simple as that.

Mr Dennis, the last time you went on a crusade to diss a player on every thread was for Oxlade Chamberlain, and look how that turned out. Have a break and enjoy the match tonight.
