Question for Ed001 what do you make of Solanke so far? And how much do you think he can improve in the next few years?

{Ed001's Note - he is ok, but he needs to stop trying to use the physical edge he possessed when playing for England so successfully in the summer. He had that advantage when playing against players of his age group, but it is not an advantage against full grown men. The lad has skill, a good touch and height, a bit of work on his anticipation and movement and he can be an excellent player.}

Thanks Ed001, I was trying to put my finger and what it was that's not clicking for him now, and looking back at the last few games, that's exactly it. I like the way Klopp is phasing him in, therefore, as he needs to get used to the man's game rather than a boys game.

A shame we went out of the League Cup so early, as playing against some physical (but not quite as skillful) lower league opposition would have done wonders for him to help him focus on brains rather than brawn in his play.

{Ed001's Note - very good point that Zed, that would have done him the world of good.}

I agree with you Ed. He is 19 and as you have said before, CF is the most difficult position to play at that age and a lot of time is required to get it together. I just have this feeling that some fans are starting to get on his back like they did with Origi (who mind you, has achieved way more than Solanke has at LFC) just cos he is not scoring goals like Harry Kane did at their diff. ages. Now, we may lose Origi (who I rate totally) to Wolfsburg if Ed02 is to be believed. Is Solanke next? We cannot afford to start hounding our young players away just cos they are not fulfilling their potential fast enough.

Be great if he ends up being able to use both the drogba did, what a player he was, many just couldn't live with him including us lol.

Totally with you Mick. I think he needs to concentrate on growing the 'brain' side of his play right now, and the extra bulk needed to be able to use brawn in the mans game will follow as he fills out over the next few years.
