Thomas Lemar v/ s Christian Pulisic
Who is better suited to replace Coutinho and why just based on footballing abilities and nothing else?

{Ed0333's Note - pulisic all day long for me. Can play anywhere along the front 3 and marketing opportunities in the States would be huge. I just feel he has a larger ceiling and doesn’t need to be bedded into the Klopp way.

To me the marketing thing is a non issue. Lemar can play either wing, number 10 and number 8 in midfield, he’s performed well at club and international level and has a fantastic long range shot and dead ball ability in his locker which Pulisic doesn’t have. Plus Pulisic has said that he’s a big Man United supporter and only wants to play for them if he moved to the Premier League. Whereas Lemar is keen on a move.

Pulisic for the reasons Ed033 said. It would mean he could play in a few positions at a very high level.

I believe the same. Pulisic all day long for me.
I really would prefer it if we could
go all out for him by June.

There are quite a few players linked to us who could replace Coutinho, mostly though they are best suited to replacing him in the front 3, rather than when he plays in midfield as our play maker, Phil is really two players in one.
If we do sign one of these front players as a replacement I wonder if we do need another creative force in midfield, Lallana can fill the role but not in same class as Coutinho.

Between the two it would be Pulisic all day long.

Pulisic for reasons i have explained in another post. Good little player who could be great.

Pulisic would be an American marketing gold mine. As an American I can attest we are starving for a legit star in the world game an pulisic appears to be one that has that real potential. I am tired of the bums who could not cut it in Europe then come to the Micky mouse league of MLS and end up being on our national team who could frigging beat Trinidad. Sorry for the rant.

Pulisic, hands down. People in America think Donovan is the best player in U. S football history. That is inaccurate, IMO. Talent wise and raw skill and ability, Pulisic is the real deal (Donovan is not a patch on him) and is still learning the game so his ceiling and upside is thru the roof. Pulisic any day over the others like Meyer, Lanzini and the like even tho, I would not mind Julian Brandt as he can play in a front 3 and in the no. 10, where he currently plays at Leverkusen.

I'm in America and I don't see Donovan in our top 5. Claudio Reyna. Miles better. Donovan only wanted to be the big fish in a small pond. No fight in that boy. Puli Pulisic is not the best yet but he will be before long. Would love to have him as a red.
