Just going to throw it out there because in recent times it winds me up or maybe I'm too old for this kind of stuff I don't know.

Social media, why is it, the majority of players feel the need to be on it? it causes nothing but disruption and rumours, all they want is bloody attention, I bet they have competitions among themselves ' I have 1 more million followers then you'. To me there should be some sort of rule, when you join a club you can't be on social media, there's far too much hassle to it in my opinion.

Just needed to get that out there, maybe I'm alone in thinking this way but it does do my head in. The majority of BS comes via Social media. Poison.

I agree
But unfortunately it’s the modern era and we have to expect it.

It can be good though, and players are allowed to express themselves. Look at Vincent Kompany, he is excellent on social media, they are not all like Andre gray.

Players should be banned from using social media and doing their talking through club services.

Unfortunately player power is the poison.

Over 1 billion monthly active users (almost weekly aswell) between facebook and instagram alone this year. It is as you say a marketing ploy where "followers" can be used as leverage at the highest end in negotiating deals with clubs but mostly with receiving sponsorship. They receive all sorts of endorsements for mentioning or showing a product all the time.
It is not the players fault it's the 400+million people who daily use instagram and facebook. The numbers are truly incredible!

You right. Perhaps you too old for this stuff. Relax mate, it ain't as deep or serious as you make it out to be. By the way, am millions of fans appreciate the access social media gives them to the players, vice versa.
Chill bro.
