A lot of talking about Mane's missed chance! Why can't we win 1-0? If Lovren can't deal with a kid ( the only attack from Everton ) then he should retire from football

{Ed0333's Note - I thought it was a stonewall penalty and Lovren didn’t need to make that silly challenge but seriously mate I’m sure he’s feeling like a gargantuan plum as is without us sticking the boot in. I thought he played well up until his brain fart. I feel really sorry for him to be honest.

This is not the first incident with Lovren. I have no sympathy for him. This is why we won’t win anything! Why should we score 4 and 5 every game! Utter rubbish! People talk about missed chance? , 1-0 gives you as many points as 5-0.

{Ed0333's Note - So Harry who would you suggest we play as center back? Kovacic I suppose. Yes we all know that we aren’t perfect at the back but save your vitriol till Feb 1 and if we don’t sign anyone I’ll join your angel of doom gang and hang on your every word sire.

We might have to scrap through this month mate! But I just can’t see Klopp ditching Lovren! He is in love with the defender! He like many on this page would shoulder the blame on the attackers for not fulfilling his quota of 5 goals every week! Klopp doesn’t trust Gomez enough at CB is a worrying thing for me!

{Ed001's Note - he trusted him enough to move him there when the opportunity came along. Your ignorance is astonishing. They do say the loudest mouth has the least to say though.}

AS an ex-defender, I sympathise with Lovren. We all make mistakes - only problem is that when its the GK or the CB, then its much more noticeable. He has found himself isolated one on one, on the edge of the box with acres of space. Any decent forward would be licking his lips in that situation. I think Lovren probably would agree that he should have dealt better with it. But Im not going to pile into him for making a mistake.

If we use that same logic Harry, and ask a defender to retire from football when a young striker tempts him into an error, then should we ask Mane to retire from football for not being able/ choosing to hand a sitter to a teammate? Both situations end up in a goal and both hugely effect the outcome of the game. Both situations, it could be argued, cost us 2 points.

I don't understand why Lovren doesn't even try to head the ball which practically skimmed off his head.
Why are our central defenders afraid to head the ball?

Has no-one taught them the fundamental basics of defending? You don't let the ball bounce in the box or between you and the goal. That's central defending lesson 1.01. Lovren is not the only culprit, Matip is just as culpable.

It's amazing how quick people are too Lovrens defence but are so quick to hang Mane out to dry. Last time I checked Mane has been one of our best players over the last 16 months proving to be a match winner on numerous occasion. Where Lovren has been average or below for the whole of his LFC career. There again Lovren did win LFC player of the month not so long ago but that was out of sympathy for being subbed for being dreadful versus Spurs.

I hate hanging any player out to dry and Manè's been brilliant foe us but one player was penalised harshly in my opinion whereas the other chose to put personal glory ahead of totally killing off one of our biggest games of the season.

Jayden, we're not quick to hang Mane out to dry, but Harry just suggested Lovren should retire. I'd rather 1 Mane than 5 Lovren's, but retire? I just hope Mane looks at his choice and decides to never do that again. Could you see Bobby doing that?

I love Mane and few years back in was on here in disbelief that fans were moaning about Klopp buying him. I was arguing he would be great and had pace etc we lacked at the time. But I must admit I was very disappointed with him yesterday and said at the time to fellow red I hope we don't regret that bit of greed as 2.0 right on half time ends the game and knew wasn't going to be a 4.0 game way they set up. Penalty very soft for me and expect to see far more penalty in the future based on that. Thought half an hour later I sat and watched a man u player pull Otamendi to the floor in the box. you guessed it no penalty! Even utd fans said was far worse than lovren and trust me they usually never admit anything especially if in Lfc favour! Anyway 3 points v West brom and get behind the boys.

Penalty was a penalty, end of, Lovrens whole position to the ball right from Rooney playing a long ball through until he bundled Lewis to the ground was shocking, he made 2 poor decisions, from about the 10th minute in it was clear Everton had no interest in coming at us, Henderson and more so Milner just don't have the eye for a pass or movement to trouble teams sitting back, have to say again Klopp waited too long to make changes and its my biggest gripe with him, we should have played our best side and rested players against a West Brom team that has zero confidence, a point is a point but it goes down as a poor point imo.
