The thing is mate we could win 10 zip and harry and co will still be out bashing the team! The truth is on our day we will hammer any team we come up against weather it's city real, psg. Yes we might not be as consistent as we'd like but that will change as soon as we get our first bit silverware, so for having a defence that are a waste of time, a nonexistent midfield and a false nine that doesn't score enough or do enough to be on the verge of a top top player then a think we are doing mighty fine. However the bitches will tell you we got lucky unfortunately come on the mighty reds YNWL.

Exactly! I hate all off the ‘nobody is bigger than the club’ BS nobody has ever said Coutinho Is bigger than the club! Play like this more regularly and we might give the lad a reason to want to stay, you get nowhere selling your best players, we do the same thing every few seasons ‘I don’t want want suarez he's not bigger than the club’ he goes we take 4 steps back, we did the same when Torres left it took us time to get back to where we were, keep your better players improve the team and try convince your best players to stay. THE lads played great today it looked so easy and natural at times it was scary. Hope Moreno is okay and gets fit soon, a real example of where hard work can get you.

To be fair Barnesy, we didn't go backwards when Torres left, as Suarez came in (ignore the whole Carroll thing! ), we won a cup the following season (our only trophy in 11 years), and then followed Sturridge and Coutinho.

We definitely suffered when Suarez left, and we would've been lost without Gerrard from the time he became our captain.

Our problem has been that we have relied on one or two key players in the last 15 years or so - Gerrard and Owen, Gerrard and Alonso, Gerrard and Torres, Suarez etc. Whilst I don't want to lose Coutinho, we are more than a 1/ 2 player team now, we have talent all over the middle/ front of the park (notable omissions at the back! ), and, although he is not the same type of player, we have Keita already lined up for next summer, who will again move us on. I'm also keen to see how Lallana could play in the advanced midfield role that Couts is playing at the moment, with MSF in front of him.

I honestly feel that, this time, when Couts eventually goes, we won't suffer the same dip we saw post Suarez. We are (more often than not) greater than the sum of our parts.
