Imagine if we came back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3? We'd call it the greatest comeback in Champions league history!

Come on lads, there is no need for this tirade of abuse aimed at individuals. Sevilla are unbeaten at home in a year, the ref was a tad dodgy, the players all got complacent and Klopp took too long to react and make changes.

It still leaves us in first place in the group and unbeaten. So is there really any need for the meltdown just because you're hurting? The players will be too.

In hindsight, Klopp should've subbed Moreno for Milner at left back, subbed Henderson for Can as he looked shot (i did say before the game he wouldn't be fit enough) and Coutinho for Solanke so we had a target man to aim at to beat Sevilla's press. Klopp got it wrong, Moreno made a couple of mistakes, Hendo clearly wasn't fit to play twice straight after injury. No need to launch into them all though!

Take nothing away from Sevilla! They got it spot on and did a number on us. On the WHOLE team.

We know we struggle defensively away from home so this is nothing new. Anyway, back to Anfield on Saturday and we have more than enough to smash Chelsea. That's the Chelsea who lost 3-0 away to Roma last week! These things happen even to the best of us. Part of being in the Champions League is testing yourselves against the best. We just went up against one of the best teams in Spain and they are happy to be leaving their own stadium with a last minute draw. It's all about perspective.

It was highly dissapointing, and very worrying, that from the second the second half started Seville's tactical and personnel changes had a massive impact. But it was something like the 66th minute until Klopp reacted at all. What was he doing? And why does this keep happening? The players. they are what they are, can't change that now. But Klopp needs to react to the situation unfolding in front of him or what's the point of him even being there?

No MK this happens far too often. We are spineless, no leadership, hendo once again panics under pressure. This has happened previously, Bournemouth, city and Spurs. Any team with a bit of guile and leadership would have seen out that game, slowed the game down, game management etc. Don't think I've ever seen such an awful captains performance before last night, hendo playing at the 6 is just a complete mess. No composure, no defensive awareness, he was tactically out played. Not once did he show a bit of leadership, he was swallowed in by the atmosphere. Jordan Henderson completed 55% of his passes against Sevilla.
Yes, a central midfielder completing just 55% of his passes. Thank god he will be replaced in the Summer.

ye i agree with you MK. it is disappointing no doubt, but hojestly don't think it requires the amount of fallout that has followed.

I think after the poor form we've regularly had this year, and last y ear, it probably is justified. Why progress from the group when we can only beat Maribor away in arguably the easiest group in the CL.

and yeh moreno made mistakes, but i think what's more worrying is the performance of the midfield in the second half, like they suddenly vanished!

If we play anywhere below our best then chelsea will destroy us!

Spot on mk. Think the reactions are just frustrations at being a pool supporter at the moment. One moment we're in the depths of misery and the next we're throngs of ecstasy. Last night was our season in 90 mins and the problems have yet to be addressed. Disappointed with Moreno- the occasion obviously got to him. What really bothers me is the reemergence of vitriol as if supporters have been waiting in the wings for him to fail and now they've come out to feed. Emotionally the lad has been through a crazy week and it was just a step too far in his "redemption". Perhaps people should ask the question, would they prefer him to succeed, or be proven in their original condemnation of him? Personally I never liked him since he first signed but this season I've been completely converted to become a fan and I don't think I'm in the minority.

Join the real world Mk we have a central midfield who can't keep the ball and a defence who can't defend. We will never win anything with this squad. There is no player with balls, no player with leadership, no player in the squad who is a good header of the ball. We have a timid squad with the heart of a peanut.

I want someone on the training ground this to dig players out. Let them have a go at each other. let's get it all out in the open. Let the manager go totally mad with them. All this nicey nicey approach is not working. It is time now to find out who is a man and is man enough and good enough to win things with Liverpool.

I don't understand why we didn't shut up shop at 3-2. We were still going for a 4th goal. Pull the wingers back and stop the full backs getting isolated.

I agree the result is ok MK but I was worried after Southampton that mistakes of the past were not being learned and Chelsea will beat us if we play anything like we did last night or even the way we played against Southampton. We won that game easy because Southampton were toothless and low in confidence.

4-3-3 with Coutinho as one of the 3 does not work. It's just way too open on his side. Its obvious Moreno was an absolute calamity last night. Chasing players into the centre of the pitch but I did wonder if Coutinho was supposed to slot into that side. I know Wijnaldum would do it on the other side. I don't think its lack of effort on Coutinho's side. Its just not his position.

I think there are just too many sacrifices to get Coutinho (as great as he is) into this side against the good teams. If we had a top class DM and would sit Wijnaldum with him then I think a 4-2-3-1 would work against top sides. but we don't, so I would revert to the 4-4-2 game against West Ham. That was my favourite game this year becuase we were the most balanced I've seen us play under Klopp. We still had attacking verve but we were solid defensive shape.

I'd play the same midfield. Drop Coutinho and bring in Chamberlain for RW. Wijnaldum and Can to sit in the centre. Mane LW has to sacrifice his game a little to play slightly more defensive (only slightly) but Salah gets freed to cause all sorts of damage.

This is the long term balanced solution.

I think the 4-3-3 might really take shape when Kieta replaces Coutinho but honestly, this formation is an absolute disaster with our current 11.

I can;t agree that Seville "did a number on the whole team". Though Liverpool were under pressure Moreno single handedly turned the situation from one where Liver pool had a 3-0 lead to one where they were staring defeat in the face.
In a matter of minutes he gave away a pointless free kick on the edge of the box and the failed to mark his man, who scored at the subsequent cross. He then gave away a penalty which crowned one of the worst displays of catastrophic defending by one individual Liverpool player since the days of Djimi Traore.

Not disappointed

Been there. Done it. Will be there again and will do it again.
Not the first time we let in 3 goals!

We all know moreno will do it again just because he's had a few good games recently he is still a bomb waitin to go off.

Just the frustrations of being a pool fan at the moment. That would suggest this is something new. We have been doing this for years now.

This hasn't happened since 2014 (throwing away a 3-0 lead, i mean) .

The difference was we threw it away back then against Crystal Palace, barely in the top 16 teams in England. Last night we threw it away against Sevilla who are without a doubt in the top 16 teams in Europe.

This is not a regular occurrence at all.

WheNYou look at other teams we would like to compare ourselves with (regardless of the reality or not) losing three nil leads happens to Liverpool more often than other sides we’ve been on the better side of these comebacks too though.

Yes that is true MK. But its also very true that we don't win anything anymore. When did we last win something? It's a guarantee we won't win anything with this squad.

MK - you're letting facts get in the way of opinions, a modern day crime if ever their was one!
