Ed your opinion on Shane Duffy centre back for Brighton Hove Albion mate. 25 so still young, great header defensively and attacking.

Not good enough, IMO. He like Keane at Burnley, play (ed) in a defensive system which we don't play here so he will like Keane at Everton, prolly struggle. I'll pass, thank you.

Lewis dunk would be the one i would go for at Brighton. A proper old school centre half chucks his body in the way of anything and everything. A good all round defender imo.

Only seen him play for Ireland who play the worst anti-football imaginable, so it's hard to judge on the back of that.

He seems to have a reasonable amount of pace, so he could physically cover the space our high line would leave, but he strikes me as the type who would struggle badly with an opposition forward being able to turn and run at him with the ball.

True Something unlike our current Centre Backs Lovren, Matip and Klavan, all of whom have been great this season and last.
IMO we need new players for all three, Duffy is great in the air unlike all three of those mentioned above, is faster than all three above, and he throws himself in the way of shots like a good CB should. He never stops trying unlike the three above. Plus he’s only 25 so other aspects can be coached.

Ed01 love to hear your opinion. I think he’s a proper old style CB, great in the air and concentrates on keeping the ball out of the net, I think it’s exactly what we need at the moment, plus he’s a great threat on set pieces.

{Ed001's Note - I replied on this days ago, he is slow, slower than Lovren and Matip, that was the reason he was got rid of by Everton, his lack of pace was seen as insurmountable. He is also not that good, it is the way Brighton play that helps him. A good championship level centre back but not really good enough for the Prem.}

I did not need to hear Ed01's opinion on the lad tho his input is always welcome. All you have to do is watch the guy play and you will see for yourself, Mcgoveb. Same thing with Maguire. He is as slow as a slug with no hips, no positional sense and can't track back when he loses the ball up front (well, cos he's slow) . These CB's are not good enough in a high line and it does not matter where they throw their bodies at.
