Evening Ed1, just watching the Burnley v Newcastle game and this Tarchowsky looks good at centre back.
Good header of the ball, calm on the ball, doesn't look slow and seems a good strong physical presence and defensively aware.
You think he'd be an upgrade an what we have and just as importantly suit our style of play?
On another note, if you're still doing your legends research, has anyone asked for Ruud Gullit to be included? Remember him bring unstoppable for a couple of seasons. Beast of a centre forward especially in the air.

{Ed001's Note - Tarkowski is decent, but Mee is the one to take from there. Tarkowski is good at what he does, he is very composed on the ball, but he lacks reading of the game and Mee does a lot of talking from what I have seen. Like he did with Keane, he organises him, pulls him around as Tarkowski does not have the best reading of the game. He will throw himself in where it hurts etc, but he would not need to do it so much if he was positioned better.}

Watched the game, Ben Mee was excellent, definitely the organiser of that defence, any interest eds? Not necessarily from us.

Lovren would be great for Burnley as they don't give the opposition as much space as we give teams. We play the high line and wanna get the ball down and play. With full backs further forward than the cf for most of the game it doesn't give lovren much protection. I think mee is a v good little cb so is Keane, not seen enough of the new guy but lovren is the better of the four fore mentioned.

Lovren isn't rubbish. He is surrounded by players who aren't great at defending. He may not be good enough to win the league or ucl but he is far from rubbish. In the context of Liverpool cbs he ain't near the top but there have certainly been loads worse.

He also should have a Pl winners medal if not for a slip and a fold at palace. I hope he comes back stronger than ever. Maybe rest him for maribor and maybe even the next game.

So ed, in your opinion, granted skill levels may not be as high but would you put the Mee as the Hypia and and Tarkowski as the Henchoz, both integral but Tarkowski wouldn't have the impact he does without Mee?

{Ed001's Note - very much so. Mee makes him better.}

You are right about mee I am from Burnley and every season ticket holder I know said the same thing.

They would of been more bothered if he left I the summer. Similarly to lovren and fonte. He is excellent at what he does but because he isn't flash he gets overlooked.

{Ed001's Note - it is because of stats mate. Mee's stats are not as good as Keane's were. It really was that simple.}

I know Keane has been in poor form for the blues and looking at current form and league position it looks as if mee was the top boy in that Burnley defence. To some extent I think you guys are right but it is Keane who is getting the England call ups and games and not mee.

{Ed001's Note - that just shows how crap the England set up is that they would rather take a struggling donkey from a bigger club than a good player from a smaller one. Keane was average at best at Burnley, now he is playing terribly.}

The fact that CB's like Keane and Maguiire get games for England shows indeed how crappy England is at selecting players. As for Mee, I have not seen a lot of him BUT it seems he is well liked by Ed01 and others on here.
