In the end, I'm glad we missed the pen. Everyone would have said we needed a dubious decision to make the breakthrough.

Agreed! It's just a shame that Salah didn't get a goal - he would have matched Fowler and Mané's joint-record of 6 goals in their first 10 Premier League games. Alas, he'll have to settle for 5!

It wasn't dubious though. Firmino was running in to get on Matip's knockdown and he was blatantly pulled back.

I hope nobody let's Joey Barton's shockingly biased radio commentary change that. It was as stone wall as they come and the ref bottled it by not booking Smith as well. Anywhere else on the pitch it is.

We must have had 10 penalties like that against us when Skrtel was here and nobody ever called them dubious. People just said he was careless and trying to cheat.

However, i do agree that there's a silver lining, because there still would've been people saying it was dodgy, even if it clearly wasn't dubious. Just like people are saying we needed a terrible defensive error to score, whilst ignoring the fact that they made the error because of our constant pressure on their defence.

{Ed025's Note - i agree MK there was nothing dubious at all it was a stone wall penalty..

It's a shame for my dream team.

Not mine Den, i had Lossl in goal because i knew he'd turn up at Anfield and play a blinder. Every opposition keeper does 😂.

MK? Smith was indeed booked for the shirt pull leading to the penalty and YES? it was a stone wall penalty. I saw the pathetic Andy Gray saying it was a soft penalty BUT was not there a rule put in place last season warning players to stop the shirt pulling or penalties would be awarded? I guess he and the useless Barton forgot all that.
