Absolutely perfect review ed001 i wanted to see solanke starting and getting more oppourtunities as astriker he is gud and can be special if given oppurtunities.

{Ed001's Note - thank you V, I agree he has been impressive. Interesting in light of this article: Moenchengladbach Sporting Director claims England are producing the best youngsters that are being held back by a lack of opportunities.

Cheers Ed mate.

After seeing the Ox come on yesterday I want to see more of him, he's got more to offer I'm sure of it, if it was up to me he'd be starting next week.

Sturridge maybe needs more game time to get more confident/ fitter. To me though I'd find it difficult starting him, if he plays like that for a full game we'd be in real trouble, he just doesn't seem interested to me. Id have Solanke ahead of him at this moment in time.

{Ed001's Note - I don't see a lack of interest from Sturridge, just a lack of pace. When he did try and close down, he was so far off the pace that he got nowhere near the player with the ball.}

In other words Ed, it was like watching paint dry.

{Ed001's Note - it was certainly close. Though there is usually a lot more movement on the walls as the paint drips downwards....}

Love the article about Germany's love-in with young English players. This is exactly why England will win nothing at the senior level. They do not invest in their youth on the grassroots to the national level.

Every successful country in the past or present has done this. From France, Spain, Germany to Belgium and Portugal. Youth football is where everything is at and with the right coaching based on a set system, possession, technique and skill, these countries have thrived. U. S football is suffering from the exact same thing BUT theirs is worse as their kids would rather play American football or basketball than play footie

As for England? Yeah, let's throw money at it and some way, somehow, it will work. %0 yrs after 1966 (where England won the WC with a goal that should have been disallowed), we are still waiting.

Another good read Ed. Must have been a hard game to write up on.

{Ed001's Note - very difficult mate. Just so little to pick out as worthy of mentioning.}

LOvely read Ed1, whenever I see that sexy red shark I get excited so top notch. As an aside Lukaku did do well against us once, he scored two goals in that 3-3 game against Everton, not sure Lovren was there but just giving him props.

{Ed001's Note - cheers Welsh, I had forgotten about that. Probably hid such a distressing memory to keep myself sane.}

I didn't realise until watching the hilights later on how lucky lukaku was to be in the field, a penalty missed too, it's not good to always complain about what has gone wrong but sometimes the referees don't help.

Do you think sturridge has a jump in him? How many times will he pretend to go for a header and then not? This is a 6ft plus guy who I can’t remember the last time he won a header. I’d pick solanke over him every single time now. He can’t even be arsed to try and slow willing anymore.
