Harry, the stark reality is that our team is very good BUT clearly, not the finished article yet BUT on the cusp of being great if key players are added to key positions. Can we compete for the PL or CL? Yes. Will we win the league? I really hope so BUT I still can't see it at least right now tho it's still very early.

The CL? Of course, we can compete for it as these are Cup games that could go either way. FA Cup? It's a Cup competition so you can't really say. However, this team still has some holes in it and I know many say it should have been sorted out in the summer and that may be true BUT did not or could not due to Klopp's own tapping up crap and his not wanting to buy stop gaps as CB's, agree or disagree. At this point, let's give it 15 games and then we can see if we can decent chance for the PL cos right now, we have to first try to score a goal and keep a clean sheet and move on from there. You asked an honest question, here's an honest answer. God bless, my friend.

I'll answer for you Bingo. We're going to win the treble! 👍.

2 para of random writing for a simple question Bingo 😄😄. Why don't you give me a definite reply rather than hindsight and If's and But's. Quite difficult ain't it? I know, half of the posters on this page doesn't have the balls to DREAM let alone achieve it!

Ohk I ll ask this question again after 15 games have been played😄😄.

Crazy

But you could always jump the group from Optimistic to Realist to Pessimist 😄😄. That's how this page works! Ask this question after 10 games, you ll hear different answers from the same personal! 😎😎😎.

imo, top4 and champions league k. o. stages. there would be improvement as in back to back champions league. but i can really see us going far in the champions league and mount a title challenge. we have a good team and we'll click soon. it is the concentration level of the players that needs improvement, im sure they're working on that.

It's no problem, Harry. I dream with my eyes open. Also, What did you expect me to say? Say that we will win the PL, CL and FA Cup and blow teams away? Utter crap as things are not that simple. You lack perspective in almost everything you post, which makes you sound like a spoiled brat and self-entitled like Crazy Horse and the rest of your ilk. What are you even being petulant about? Have we been pulling any trees lately for the past 25 years in the PL? NO so where does all this self entitled attitude of yours come from?

Also, Saying half of the posters don't have the balls to dream is just insulting YET not surprising coming from you as you act like you are the most ambitious of all of us whereas, you don't even like Klopp and bash him. You are not any more ambitious than the rest of us, believe that.

Get off your pathetic pedestal mate and smell the coffee. These are not yes or no questions as a lot of things need to be considered. I know that is not your style as everything is always black or white and no middle ground as critical thinking us not be your strong point BUT that is the way it is.

How about you answer first Harry and start the ball rolling? Or you Crazy? And it makes sense to change your view after 10 rounds as you have more information. No need to go from we will be relegated to we will win the league but it makes sense to review with more data.

My hopes for the season are to finish in the top 4 again, which will give us consistency to build on.
Get out of the group in the champions league and win a domestic cup.
I think that will be a realistic sign of progress from last year.

I am sorry Bingo asking you a straight forward YES or NO question. My sincere apologies mate! the next question would be a 10 mark question, I promise mate.

ANdy

A top 3 finish in the league, FA cup and decent performance in CL.

13.) 22 Sep 2017
22 Sep 2017 09:27:01
Realistically, hear me out - a top 5 or 6 finish (if we get a good CB or 2 in Jan, then top 4 position is more likely), get into the knock out stages in CL, anything like a Quarter Final or better in FA cup - depending on who we draw and again depending on if we can sign a defender or two in Jan, who knows. Next season will be the one to judge us on I feel - this has always been my view by the way before someone says "you've probably said this every season since Klopp came in".

14.) 22 Sep 2017
22 Sep 2017 09:31:18
Olrish

That means we are not playing CL next season and you are ok with it?

15.) 22 Sep 2017
22 Sep 2017 09:54:50
WCD - If we don't sign a defender or two and the current lot don't or can't click or gel, then honestly we have no right to be in that competition next season.
The league doesn't lie at the end of the season.
We can't say Klopp didn't try to sort out the personnel back there over the summer - he obviously in my eyes has sense and didn't waste funds on a sub standard alternative to who he wanted.
He took alternatives elsewhere on the pitch, Robertson instead of the lad who went to City from Monaco. Salah instead of Brandt etc. So he or the transfer committee clearly felt the Van Dijk alternatives were going to be no better than what we already had or their price was outrageous.
So yes I'd be okay with it but I'd expect huge improvement next season, top 3 or 4 finish and good cup runs like in his first half season.
Our expectations need to be realistic, otherwise you set yourself up for disappointment, anger, hate and all the rest.
I've had many, many years of watching us not hit the heights I want them to but so what, that's football.
If we didn't struggle, it'd be boring. I'm not one for boring.
I began supporting us when we were starting to go downhill right at the end of the 80's. Maybe it's just my character, that I like to fight for whatever I get. Maybe that's the opposite of the whiners' characteristics, maybe that's why I disagree with them so ferociously.
What would you be happy with?
What kind of character are you?
A fighter or a whiner? :)

16.) 22 Sep 2017
22 Sep 2017 09:58:52
Harry - it's not simply about being ok with it or not

Ask yourself this question - with the position we're in, with the transition we're in, with the improvements we're still making since the Brendan era (and some years prior to that) do you think we're currently in a position where we can allow ourselves to demand consistent challenges for titles/ top four spots?

17.) 22 Sep 2017
22 Sep 2017 10:41:20
Are we in a transition @flagon. I thought we have a settled squad mate.
@Olrish I don't think people would be happy to see a 5th place finish end of this campaign. 4th to 5th is not an improvement imo!

18.) 22 Sep 2017
22 Sep 2017 12:07:40
In a positional sense no, but what if we over achieved last season?
4th place should have been maybe 5th or 6th except for the great end of season run we went on.
That was with a very weak (bench) side, which is widely accepted.
I think we did fantastically well to achieve 4th personally!

Think about it, Klopp in his first partial season got to two cup finals, sure we lost both but we got there nonetheless and then in his first full season he got us into the big one.
Not bad for a club who were in crisis when he took over.

He has improved us, he needs at least another 18 months to get us to improve again.
The only caveat to that in my eyes is if we begin to hover in the lower half of the table for too long either this season or next.
Then maybe we need to talk about underachieving and the likes.

I'm not saying he'll win the league for us by any means, this should be a marathon not a sprint in any case unless some sugar daddy comes in.

It might never happen again in our lifetime, who knows?!
As long as we're on tv I will watch.
As long as we play matches that I can go to support in the ground, I will spend my money to watch.

19.) 22 Sep 2017
22 Sep 2017 13:09:31
Harry - obviously our squad isn't settled, otherwise you wouldn't be whining like you do mate ;)

You need to realize that we're in it for the long run - Klopp has definitely improved us compared to the state the club was in when he first signed. We all want to be successful, that should be a given, but we're not yet in the right position to be craving that success. I was a bit coloured when Klopp first came, and I too got a bit over confident thinking that Klopp would certainly bring us instant success. Then after his first season I got a bit more real. And then again after last season a bit more real.

Seems like you need to get real too mate.

Hey Harry. I tend to agree with your response but depending on other events during the year, this will change. If we fail in the cup early, don't make it out of the group and fail to get into UCL, then you have a good hard look at things but until then, i will hope for the best and accept that things seldom meet expectations.
