sorry for going over old ground but can you ever see a DoF working with JK at Liverpool?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has a Sporting Director already - their massive mistake was not getting Susi Zorc when he was very unsettled - he was the real guiding light at Dortmund - not Klipperty. Sadly the fans are only interested in hearing that they have a world class manager and are not interested in the truth Barry.}

We know you're thoughts on Klopp. You have great knowledge and do brilliant job along with other Eds. But find the constant repeated digs rather boring now.

{Ed002's Note - What digs? Would you like to point out anything I have said that is untrue - If you find it boring it is easy to remove your account and you can probably easily find a site that will tell you that Klopp's win percentage as a Liverpool manager is better than the likes of Rodgers, van Gaal at Manchester United, Moyes at Manchester United, Avram Grant at Chelsea and lots of others. I appreciate that you are not interested in the truth. I answered a question regarding the Director of Football/Sporting Director - then straight away the whining little cretin that you are has to come and try and make it about me. Perhaps you should spend some time finding out a few truths about Liverpool and Klopp. It is always the same with the ignorant DFs like you.}

Is zorc not possible now?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool appointed someone already. They have no interest in Zorc but he could yet end up at another Premier League club.}

Z99 there are no digs by Ed02, he see things differently than most of the Lfc fan- without the redtinted glasses. i 101% agree with 02, if not where r the Levandofski or Auba or the other hidden gem we Lfc fans crave to unearth and Kloop has not found them, may be not yet. why is it so simple for Bm to change managers and still play the same way without changing all thier players.

5.) 21 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 16:55:28
Hi Ed002, would Michael Zorc want to work with Klopp again? I know they were close but I was wondering why Klopp never pushed the case. Also, Klopp does seem to be trying to do exactly the same at LFC but is the marketplace the same anymore? I feel like the world of football is no longer compatible with unearthing 'little gems' if you are at a "major" team. one sniff around a player tends to put £10m more on his head. add to this the difference in pressure he'll be feeling at LFC given the EPL demands (and our - perhaps - unrealistic wants) and it is a very different circumstance to Dortmund. I'm not sure he has the nous to achieve success in the EPL but as I've said before I'll support my team and hope that success follows soon.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what you mean by "pushed the case". Zorc is an employee of another club and is up there with Monchi in terms of reputation.}

IMO, Win pct's are nothing but false statistics to prove a flash point which does not reflect the whole picture. Here is a stat that needs to be taken into consideration regarding body of work as to me, that is what matters.

LVG has been successful and has been coaching for over 30 years so no probs, there. Avram Grant and Moyes have won nothing in their careers. Klopp has. Moyes in his first full season, won nothing, came 7th with a team that won the PL the season before and got sacked. Klopp got us CL footie in his first full season. Avram Grant played a CL final. So did Klopp. Klopp played an EL final with BR's players, the very ones he was trashing in the media to save his own skin. BR won nothing here after 3.5 yrs and over 300m spent cos like it or not, coming second is not a trophy as that only gets you into the CL group stages, same thing Klopp did, spending less than Arsenal and a fraction of Utd's spending and beating them both to it, last season. These are the facts.

Those who think Klopp is world class, is their opinion and they are allowed to have it. I never said he was world class either BUT he is a very good manager and has taken us forward since he arrived BUT a lot more needs to be done so it will be a roller-coaster ride and hopefully, we can get there sooner rather than later.

Klopp has been given the job and he should be judged on his overall body of work, not on subjective stats that can make one look good and the other look bad. Anyone who has taken a stats class (I have) can come up with such numbers as you can make a stat say what you want it to say.

{Ed002's Note - OK - Klopp got the job and has continued the rich vein of failure. The owners are desperate for success and Klopp cannot deliver. The repeated excuses given by the fans are embarrassing. Klopp has one nothing for years - and when he did the players were found by someone else. Klopp has purchased some decent players but generally badly at Liverpool, this year making himself subject to ridicule by naming the four players he would be signing and getting none. His actions have been illegal and unprofessional and as last year he has caused very significant embarrassment to the club. You don't seem to have any grasp of the bigger picture at all - not in any way of form as we see by your constant and repetative comments.}

{Ed002's Note - Read the post.}

11.) 21 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 18:01:06
Bingo. Klopp has won nothing and getting beat in 2 finals is not winning either and he is a genuis! This time next year he will nearly be here as long as Rodgers and Klopp, like any other manager should be judged on his trophy count, which at the minute is exactly the same as Rodgers. What happens if we don't get 4th or above this season? Is that taking us forward?

12.) 21 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 18:05:33
just reputation does not makes you win. i look at Pooch at spurs snd i eould take him instead of Kloop at this moment. Kloop has done nothing special yet, even Br got us top 4 and a better finish then Kloop. Kloop might come good and i totally believe that he should be given a bit more time, that does not mean he is the greatest out there, yhe one who made Bm invinsible and more over free from any fault. there is a good spine to our team its Kloop and his stubbonness to persist with a system which looks good in paper but in reaity it is completlety f#$ked up.

13.) 21 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 18:26:46
Irish, I said this very thing a couple of days ago. As it stands I do not think Klopp has made any major strides other than helping the confidence of the players. But overall I do not see an improvement, not a significant one anyway. Two years and millions spent, I still think his tenure has been mediocre at best. I'm not saying Liverpool are a bad side, quite the opposite, and I will be nervous playing you on the 14th of next month. I just don't see a vast improvement. He's been there two years and you still arguably need a new keeper, three/ four new defenders and a defensive midfielder. That's FIVE/ SIX positions still to fill. I don't see how you can justify paying £70m for VVD when there are still four/ five other positions to fill without talking about strikers and back-up midfielders. That's some work left to do.

If he wins nothing and falls out of the top four he will likely lose his job IMO.

{Ed025's Note - for someone who,s team has had moyes and van gaal in recent years sydney, i think you have got a bloody cheek having a pop at liverpools manager mate..

14.) 21 Sep 2017

We still could do with a new sporting director always thought it was a mistake and risky appointing edwards.

15.) 21 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 18:32:25
Well, win percentage without context is pretty much no use. If it's all about win percentage, then we should immediately sack Klopp and re-hire Rafa. Best win percentage we've had this side of 1991, after all. Plus he won stuff.

So let's talk about the context.

Klopp has improved the squad, particularly in forward areas, has a clear tactical plan for arguably the first time since Rafa (Hodgson and Rodgers just seemed to throw stuff at the wall to see would it stick, and Kenny signed a ponitailed drunkard that he wasn't really able to get into games), brought some good youngsters into the first team squad and I think he handled the Coutinho situation as well as could be expected.

But a lot of things haven't been good enough. His conduct in the transfer market this summer was pretty poor and could've landed us in serious trouble. It may still do. The worst part is he and the club seem to have expected Southampton to cave on van Dijk and basically invite us to bid again, despite us publically withdrawing interest, hence no attempt being made to identify and sign an alternative. Even with no FA investigation, that is biting us in the ass in a big way so far this season. The other center backs he's signed have been too slow (Klavan) and too lazy (Matip) to really be effective.

He's badly fouled up the goalkeeping situation and is continuing to mishandle it imo. First by caving into media and fan pressure to drop Karius, then for not restoring him to the team when he had a chance to in Jan/ Feb last season when Migs was still jittery, and now for continuing to use Migs as first choice despite having two better goalkeepers avaialble to him. I'm hard pressed to see him not negatively impacting the development of either Ward or Karius with this carry on. And also, this can't be great for Migs' confidence either. He surely must have twigged that, despite what he's said to the media, Klopp is likely to instate either Karius or Ward as first choice at some point in the future. Or else why are they both still here?

And whilst I'm not blaming, and don't think anyone can blame, Klopp for the lack of leadership in the dressing room and the number 'fair weather' players we have in the team, he hasn't helped it by signing two of the worst offenders (Matip and Wijnaldum) .

Does this mean I want him sacked, run out of the city, publically flogged or anything like that? No. I want him to stay. I think it's worth remembering that we're a club in only our second season in the Champions League in 9 years, and that we had become pretty rudderless under Rodgers (seriously someone please describe what Rodgers' game plan was from about November 2014 on, cos I don't think he had one) and he has improved us from there. He will eventually resolve the goalkeeping situation, and should sort out the center back issue.

But he clearly isn't perfect, needs to be read the riot act over his approach to transfers (if that hasn't happened already) and people need to have their skin reinforced if they get sore about Ed002 saying negative things about him once in a while. It's not like Ed002 is making stuff up.

{Ed025's Note - that was a good read SR but also one of the most contradictory posts ever, you list lots of complaints about klopps behaviour and tactical failings but then conclude that you want him to continue as your manager?, or maybe its just me mate..

16.) 21 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 18:40:52
I was over the moon when we got JK as manager and like every manager that's gone before I will back him 100% but just of late I have asked myself is he the man who's going to bring the silverware home? Maybe or maybe not only time will tell.

21 Sep 2017 18:44:25
Not a pop Ed025, it's my opinion. And Moyes and LvG were not good appointments.

Although I do believe LvG won an FA Cup within two seasons at a struggling United.

{Ed025's Note - one thing you can say about klopp sydney is that his teams are good to watch at least mate..

18.) 21 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 18:47:15
I'm trying to make the point that has made mistakes and has a couple of blind spots, but I think on the whole he's improved us and therefore I want him to stay. Guess I'm not doing the greatest job of it.

Tbh, most of his failings are around recruitment. If that could get sorted, we'd be golden.

I think Liverpool's attack has been great to watch since Suarez days. It's the defending that always let's Liverpool down. And IMO the inability to break down "Park the bus" teams. Liverpool's biggest attribute for me has been their ability to rise to the occasion against the top sides. They always seem to treat them like a cup final and always play well. Like I said I will always get nervous playing Liverpool. I'm not having a dig at Klopp, just having an opinion on his time at Liverpool thus far. Hey he may win the Champions League and Premier League and then he's a God, but so far he hasn't been the God Liverpool fans had hoped for, but he is manager and they'll keep backing him and rightly so. It's a big season for Klopp IMO.

22.) 21 Sep 2017

#Kloppstays
Ridiculous that people who have no clue what our club is all about wants our manager out after less than 2 years and a top 4 place last year which in my opinion was incredible considering he had a weak squad.
Empty comments from people who wouldn't know a good club if it hit them slap bang in the face.
Negative Nellys.
You'll never walk alone is it?
If you're truly a Liverpool fan, in my opinion you're a poor one and maybe you should learn what our club used to represent before empty shells like you came along.
Come at me if ya want.
You're the disgrace, not me!

A good liverpool team isn't even good to watch ed025 😂😂if you are entitled to voice a opinion surely syd is too you had moyes bobby and now koeman at everton and none have covered themselves in glory but i still think your opinions are worth reading. shocked to see you having a pop at syd for giving an onion mate. but he is a big boy and can take it😁.

{Ed025's Note - i just thought it a bit rich ken after how dour united have been these past few years, i totally agree about everton and as you say its all about onions, or opinions.. :)

24.) 21 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 19:33:20
Redskin, Sir Alex Ferguson's first full season in charge at MU was 87/ 88 season. I think he won the FA Cup 89/ 90. So more like two seasons, not 4-5 years. So this is a big season for Klopp. That's all I'm saying. Which I think is a fair comment.

How long would you give him? If he were to finish outside the top four and no trophies won, should he be given another season? What's your thoughts? I only as because all Liverpool managers bar Hodgson are treated like Gods until sacked.

How long would you give him and when do you say enough is enough?

25.) 21 Sep 2017

kev how many people said they want kloop out? we all say that he is not what we expected him to be. he is no messaih he is just a good manager who should be critisized if he is not getting the result.

26.) 21 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 19:42:15
Irish, you need to read my post again. Klopp took us further in Cup competitions in 8 months than BR did in 3 years, period. Now did he win? No BUT the on;ly people who win or lose finals are those who get to play in them. From where Klopp found us at that time, that in itself is an improvement on what BR already, win or not. You are free to disagree. Also, I never said he was a genius so where you get that from is up to you.

If, If, If. I don't care about if this or that. We don't know what will happen in the future and even if we don't get top 4, his fate will be in FSG's hands, not yours or mine. Projections are not facts. If you want Klopp gone after two years of not winning a trophy (BR went 3 without a sausage) then, have at it. Klopp will find better clubs than LFC BUT will we find a better manager than him? There's always Woy and big Sam. Remember, he is FSG's 4th manager in 7 years. If you think you're going to win the PL doing that nonsense then go ahead. You will have NO more managers left to hire and we will not be winning the PL in a hundred years. The impatience on these boards is deafening after 4 measly games at the start of the season.

{Ed025's Note - im with you bingo..

I don't think anyone is calling for his head, but surely other Liverpool fans are allowed to question their club manager. Or is it a dictatorship? Is this North Korea? Haha.

Cheers Bingo.
To even be questioning or discussing our position in the league and Klopp's position at the club smells of poo stirring from outside that's spread in amongst us.
People then follow blindly.
If it wasn't ridiculous it'd be funny but I'm concerned for some people's sanity.
It may as well be North Korea because they follow an idiot blindly too.
Same with the Americans, same with the British if you want to go down the politics route.
The leaders of these countries are extra special, not in touch with reality and don't know their arse from their elbow.
Thankfully they're not from my neck of the woods.
Trump? Johnson? Seriously?! Wow!

33.) 21 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 20:35:26
If Klopp doesn't win anything with Liverpool how does that make him a better manager? Its deluded Bingo. Its a results based business, trophies in the cabinet.

He needs to step up big time. His personality only takes him so far. He needs to win a trophy this season or he will be on par with Rodgers and that's a fact.

35.) 21 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 21:20:04
No one is saying he should be sacked now, that's ridiculous. He is still very capable of winning something this season. I am merely asking what should happen if you finish outside top four and fail to win a trophy. Should he continue as manager? And how long do you go until enough is enough.

These performances will change soon and results will improve I have no doubt about that. It's merely a blip, but the questions above are still relevant.

39.) 22 Sep 2017
21 Sep 2017 23:50:04
Irish, you must have issues reading. If's and but's are irrelevant here as we don't know what will happen in the future. Again, Klopp is no genius and his mistakes are well documented BUT the constant moaning and projecting him being a failure after two years or when his time will be done whenever that is, is just crazy and dishonest. Is it too much to ask that you let the process run its course b4 you judge the man. BR got 3 season and a half years to prove his incompetence, at least.

Where have I said that he should not win trophies? Pay attention. All I said was that those comparing him to BR or Poch are off their rocker as he is a better manager than BR as he has achieved MORE in his career than BR and Poch, who as not even a sausage to his name in his whole career and for Spurs and he's been there longer BUT he's better than Klopp? That is factually false. Until they succeed as much and where Klopp has succeeded domestically (the Scottish pub league does not count as Neil Lennon was great there too) and in Europe (his record there is better than Wenger's), they will continue to eat his dust.

They are not a patch on Klopp as he has a trophy cabinet with two back to back Leagues and German Cups and Super Cups. Who did he beat to get all those? The great Bayern. The fact that he used BR's own players, the ones he used to trash in the media to save his skin, to get us onto two finals including a European final, is a scathing indictment on BR himself. Pls, Let the process run it's course and we will judge him when all is said and done, that's all I'm saying and him having a sticky patch in the first 5 games in
the season proves absolutely nothing about what the future holds. God bless, my friend.

22 Sep 2017 07:12:51
Excellent post again Bingo - take note Rover please, I'm sure your heart is in the right place but you need and many others need a little home truth or two.

KBL - Well said mate, not sure if your 7 season comment is correct but still, you're not too far off in terms of the league holy grail anyway.
And if you're miles off with 7 seasons, it's only fair as people have been giving untrue "facts" on Klopp for quite a while now.
The pathetic Vulchers are most definitely beginning to take flight before they attempt to circle - pathetic!

41.) 22 Sep 2017
22 Sep 2017 11:40:37
Klopp did brilliantly with a thin squad last season, that tells me he is a decent manager. It's only natural to doubt the players and the manager after a run of four poor results but I really feel we should stick with it. I am starting to get a tad worried as I think liverpool attacking style requires a certain amount of confidence. All football does of course but a fluid attacking team more so than many other styles. I don't think the heads have dropped yet but they were clearly shaken up by the city defeat where it must have seemed we came up against a brick wall. I don't like saying it but city are the better team this year and I think the boys realised that last month and they have lost z bit of confidence. I have absolutely no doubt that we can turn it around and I still believe we can finish top four, no problem. I actually still believe we could win it, probably sounds deluded but there are no teams that we have no chance of beating.

We miss mane as we did last year and a big reason for this is because he is a clinical finisher. You don't have to be a poacher to be a clinical finisher of course. Liverpool need to be more ruthless in front of goal. If liverpiol were a player it would be Adam lallana, clever creative gets stuck in against players twice his side and wins but doesn't put the ball in the back of the net as much as he should, compared to the amount of chances he has.

Liverpool do have a plan b this year that sees us sit off opposition but I think we need a plan c and d. There are times we need to be able to lob the ball into box. And there are times we need to play long ball football.

Klopp is a good manager but the great managers adapt when things are not working. Will he do this? That remains to be seen. I hope he does coz I really like him. Obviously I don't know him but I'm a fairly good judge of character and I think he is one of the good guys.

42.) 22 Sep 2017
22 Sep 2017 11:45:40
I'm trying to think who the bad signings are? Karius? Matip? I don't think they're bad signings, they're not marquee signings or league winning samples but the two of them cost less than 10 mil didn't they? Klavan was his only bad signing imo.

43.) 22 Sep 2017
22 Sep 2017 11:45:42

22 Sep 2017 11:55:40
Klopp's mistakes are well documented and I never defended them and will never do. He made mistakes and that is clear and should be held accountable for them. Every manager makes mistakes BUT the bigger picture needs to be looked at and sorry, for those doubting Klopp cos we are on a bad run to me, means nothing as no one knows the future.

One said on here that that Poch is better than Klopp. How can that be true when he has won nothing since he arrived at Spurs (he's been there longer, btw) . In fact, he has won NOTHING in his whole career and even can't beat Klopp and has not in all 5 games he's played him while Klopp has leagues and Cups in his cabinet, beating the all powerful Bayern in the process. Have Spurs put pressure on him cos he can't win a home game yet? Didn't think so.

As for those saying Moyes is some way better than Klopp, Ed25 responded to you perfectly. Bravo, monsieur!

We are talking about the win pct thingy as that was the stat you put up which I disagree with. I may not grasp things very well as BUT the points I put up, you did not dispute any of them which means either you agree or you did not just respond to it. Whichever way, I'm cool with it. God bless, my friend.
