Ed01, I read your match review and it was excellent. Also, thank you for spotting Migs' mistake on the goal. I thought I was the only one that saw it. As the high ball went towards TAA, I saw Migs shuffling over to the left corner of the 6 yard box. I said to myself, "Dude, what are you on about"? Then, Brady wins the header, Matip and Klavan don't communicate, Migs starts to shuffle back to his left and Arfield scores. I blamed him first before anyone else as it happened. Why did he go out to the corner of the 6 yard box? Who does that when the ball goes wide like that? He then, shuffles back, feet not set and the goal goes past him. Had he kept his position all the way, he would have had his feet set and had a better chance at saving the shot even tho, he has difficulty getting down to the ground hence, he gets beat at his near post a lot.

Frankly, Migs is no longer possible anymore. It simply no longer is. Don't let the pundits fool you, mate. Whenever he plays, they say he's not good enuff and then Migs get hooked like vs Arsenal or Seville, they come back and say he has done nothing wrong to warrant being dropped. Both of those cannot be true at the same time. Impossible!

Klopp needs to end this crap right now. We know he does not rate him so bin him, put Karius in as he rates him and let the culling begin. As long as he is in goal, we will always concede cos he will make a mistake leading to a goal and will never make the save you don't expect him to make to bail us out of a jam like yesterday, which is the job of a GK to begin with. Cheers, my friend.

Where did you read Klopp does not rate Migs? I expect him to play again next Saturday against Leicester.

I actually saw that at the time and then ended up forgetting about it by this morning. Ty for the reminder Ed001.

I said during the week when he was dropped for Sevilla, he's a shocking goalkeeper. No command of the area. Poor from crosses. Can't pass the ball. And he doesn't make quality saves. Simple fact is if Migs stops making errors for ever, he's still barely a Premier League goalie. Karius and Ward have the potential to be good goalies if given the chance. It's mind boggling that Migs continues to play and I don't really understand what Klopp's doing here.

It couldn't be a case that he doesn't rate Karius and Ward, or else he'd have sold at least one of them. Maybe he's trying to protect them from criticism for a bit longer? But I think it's time one of them just was just given the first choice role, and they make a mistake, they'll be given a chance to come back from it.

Bingo might be inferring it from the fact that one of Klopp's first signings was a goalie. It would be nice if he used said goalie.

That's the other thing that worries me. The rotation of gks can't be good can it? I'd like Karius to be given the shirt all season, we are better from set pieces with loris. I don't know why but we are so dodgy from corners with migs. I don't know if it's coincidence or what.

No doubt Klopp needs to drop Mignolet but he was not entirely at fault for the goal. I do not know what was up with Klavan when it looked like he was running over to Matip to give him a hug.

There simply is no communication at the back.

To fix the problems, the problems need to be removed starting with Mignolet who has been a problem ever since he joined Liverpool.

He simply is not good enough and will never be. Klopp needs to pull the trigger otherwise defensively, nothing will change for us.

He does not rate Migs, never has as that is the reason that Karius is here in the first place. If you think he will dump Karius for the disaster that we all can see then you are deluding yourself. Klopp is slowly getting Karius games to get him ready for taking over the spot. We all just want it to be done sooner rather than later. Just my opinion. Ed01, can you inform us more on this issue?

{Ed001's Note - he knows Mignolet is not good enough and Karius was bought to replace him. Ward impressed massively on loan and has moved ahead of Migs in Klopp's long term thinking. I will be very surprised if Mignolet does not leave next summer, unless he has changed his mind about being a back up.}

Best goalie at the club is Grabara.

@Something

May be. But what's this ". we know he doesn't rate him. " except the CL games Klopp has played Migs in all league matches. If he doesn't rate him he would have sold him in the summer!

Klavan ran over to Matip because Matip had let himself be caught the wrong side of Wood and wasn't strong enough to recover. If Klavan hadn't come over, Wood would've been able to get a shot off instead of passing it.

It's all well and good to say it was a mistake because Arfield scored, but Klavan saw his defensive partner getting rinsed, and did what he's supposed to do, got over to help. If Matip had done his job right, Klavan doesn't come across.

Something Red, Wood almost missed the ball and did not look like he was going to get a shot out of the situation. Wood read the situation well with seeing Klavan leaving it wide open for Arfield.

Klavan should have stayed, instead he he did nothing to make it easier for Mignolet.

Klopp should stop trying to protect players or rest players and just concentrate on winning football matches 🤝.

To be fair there were multiple errors,

- TAA gets beaten in the air (hardly surprising as a young kid against a bull)
- Matip then gets his positioning wrong as not goal side and ball goes over him
- Klavan sees the problem but makes a decision to help out when might have done better to leave Matip to himself
- Emre Can is defensive mid but is caught ball watching, doesn't track Arfield and leaves a gaping hole top of the box
- Robbo doesn't cover the run either
- Migs doesn't have his feet set to make the save

Of them all, I can understand Klavan's better than the others (except TAA) . Even if he made a poor decision and didn't get there, at least he tried to help out Matip. Can is probable the worst culprit IMO as so switched off.

Agree with ed01. I think he would have been sold this summer if not for his decent form at the end last season. Would have been a bit of a kick in the teeth to unload him after he did so much to help us finish fourth. It's a difficult one and thinking with your heart I keep him, thinking with my head he shouldve gone. I'm just guessing however.

Pretty spot on, SGRed, at least for me. Klavan's positioning is a bit suspect, but given Matip has the strength of a newborn kitten and is terrible at headers, I suspect he's just doing his best to cover. Can letting his runner go and watching him put it in the back of the net is really the big problem though for me.

{Ed001's Note - for me the big problem is and always will be the keeper. A top class keeper is set and saves it, Migs is still going the other way, after going walkabout and still gets close to it. Start from the back, keeper should be our priority. Until we get a better keeper we will always have issues.}

Spot on, Ed. The GK screwed up at the very start which led him screwing up at the very end of that play that led to the goal. Migs does the dumbest things as a GK that I wonder how he even became one at the highest level. On that play and regardless of what the outfield players did, a good GK would NEVER have done what Migs did at the start. NEVER. A good GK should be bailing his team mates out hen they screw up as he is the last line of defence which is why GK's are very concentrated and are leaders cos in the end, they hate conceding. Migs is a poor GK with a poor attitude.

Also, look at the shambles btw Can and Klavan that led to the corner. They both go for the ball. A good GK would have yelled "Leave it" and come off the line to get the ball to calm things down. What does he do? He stays there, keeps quiet and both players collide. On the corner, Mee almost scores but Matip clears off the line. Why is Matip tracking back to do that? Could it be cos the GK was caught in no man's land off his line? See how poor the guy is overall? He made 4 mistakes in that game that could have led to us losing all 3 points YET many will come here and say he did ok. Pathetic!

I find it difficult to settle on any individual when there are so many errors being made. the corner we conceded in the 80th minute when klavan and Can contrived to go for the same ball with no Burnley player in site summed up our problems in a nutshell - no leadership, no communicators. if we could get in someone who's best ability was his ability to talk and direct, that would do it for me!
