Everyone knows the defence is shaky - what would you do if you were Klopp?

Personally I'd stop switching the team around every other game and try go for a settled back 5 lineup for at least a month so players can get used to each other and quit panicking at the lack of communication.

First of all I'd put Karius in goal. Somehow despite the odd mistake Karius just looks more confident around the box and the back 4 seems more confident in the area with him. There just seems to be constant panic on every corner with Migs in goal.

At LB I'd go Robertson. Moreno is clearly playing better than before, but with his tendency for rash challenges I think he panics the back 4. Pick Robertson and tell him first and foremost his job is to stop the leaks at the back.

RB I'd go for Gomez. TAA is looking increasingly nervous - understandable given the pressure the back 5 is under right now, and he deserves to play when things are more settled. Gomez will also help in the air.

CBs I'd go for Matip and Lovren. I'd love to put Gomez in at CB but I think Matip and Lovren have shown they can play together end of last season and I want Gomez at RB so I'd stick with them for a month and if still having problems then slip Gomez in and play Milner can play RB.

That gives you
Karius
Gomez - Matip - Lovren - Robertson

That would have to do better than what we have with switching every other game.

Also important is the midfield. I'd ask Hendo and Can/ Gini to sit deeper together in more of a 4-2-1-3 as Hendo is getting isolated far too often and not enough work being done on the cover as we saw for Correa's goal and no one tracking arfield either.

Klopp managed to tighten up the defence end of last season, let's hope he can figure it out again.

I would agree with that! I just hope we can buy a quality CB that can be a leader.

At home you don't need two players sit and protect. If that's the case play 3 at the back. It's one and the same. I would not play Hendo. Play Can at the deep. He is a monster and the only player who could put in a tackle when in need. He is excllent on the ball. He is confident and could turn the ball to start an attack. No sidewys and backwards passing.
Play Wiji alongside ( Not a CM ) but he is technically the best midfielder we have. He has strength and pace to carry the ball forward.

At home you need not be defensive. Hardly any team come to dominate you! They sit back anyways! Your task is to break their resilience defense!

I have no comments on the defense. I would rather pick 4 posters form the site than anyone!

Which posters and why Harry? Also other fans for Harry solution who would you pick from the site and why to play in a back 4. Bit of fun.

1) I'd put Karius in goal and put Ward on the bench. I'd try and encourage Mignolet to find God, retire from football and join the priesthood.

2) I'm not sure what to do with center backs. Matip's ambling around the pitch is really grating with me and I wonder would the number of errors from others decrease if he was actually where he was meant to be. But a Klavan / Lovren partnership would be completely devoid of pace and just wouldn't work with our high line, even if they stopped making errors. And when Matip is bothered, he is actually a good center back. The League Cup in mid week gives us an excellent opportunity to try Gomez at center back and that's what we should do. If he plays well, we should keep him there for the weekend.

3) Robertson at left back should be obvious, imo.

4) Our midfield seemed okay yesterday before we got desperate late in the game. They had clear instructions - Can to sit, Milner and Coutihno to link with the front and press the oppo in their own half. I'm not sure about Can's defensive instincts (or those of any other midfielder at the club), but I think that basic blueprint is the way forward.

Spot on, SG and SR. The lineup we put out last night was very good and the one we should go with for parked buses as we opened Burnley up at will and got behind them a lot. We just made bad choices in the final third, shooting for no reason instead of taking the time to check for the better placed teamate. As for Milner, he is not good enuff at CM so I would rather put Wiji there instead with Cou at the no. 10.

The LC this Tuesday will be interesting regarding who Klopp puts out BUT those saying we should have a settled backline, you can do that only for so long as we have a tonne of games this season so rotation is necessary. Matip seems to not be interested in getting stuck in and being physical.

Check the Burnley goal. He didn't even put a challenge in as Wood just stuck a leg out and passed to Arfield with Matip standing there. He would later improve and shut him down physically BUT the damage was already done. He must do better in this area.

{Ed025's Note - you guys have to stop with this "they parked the bus" malarkey bingo, they played an effective counter attacking game which liverpool have done on many occasions in the past, in fact they had a couple of good chances to take all 3 points late on mate..

Bingo and MK at the bank. Bingo is very vocal here and he is also aggressive. He will win most of the headers just like he win all the argument. MK is calm on the ball just like his long posts. I ll play Superred at RB. He looks excellent to me. LB is reserved for Mighty Reds.
😄😄😄😄.

Harry, I played CB a bit in high school I was not the most vocal BUT I tried to be the most competitive and I hated losing. That mentality is missing in our defence, right now.

The most vocal pain in the ass left back in history. I was a real spoiler, would man mark to the point of stalking and if the ball came anywhere near my area it would be in row Z along with the winger and often the linesman and any spectators who were in the way 😁
I was a terror.
