nevermind 1, we need 2 defenders in january. lovren and klavan should be sold and matip should be third choice, as he thinks he's too good to be dropped now as all our defenders our crap.

gomez is not good enough and its a shame he's ahead of flanagan, rotate milner and arnold in the rightback spot instead.

Gomez is young coming back from a severe injury problem, playing out of position. Try and take deep breaths before you rage, or do they not tell you that in therapy?

It wasn't a good result but the blame is on no one but the manager at this point. Much as I love the guy, he's just not delivering.

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure what the guy even saw, Gomez had a decent game.}

Agree with your comment on current CBs but you're wrong about Gomez. I would be playing him at CB personally and the Milner/ TAA at RB, Robertson LB.

no i will blame the individual mistakes made by players, sure its klopps fault for thinking they were good enough.

He's seeing red ed, and not the good kind lol. Thought Moreno and Gomez were both decent. Moreno especially would have had a very good game if not for his one or two . outbursts.

What do you make of that game, and out manager ed?

{Ed001's Note - we should have put it to bed in the first half really, however once we got into the second half the lack of decisiveness amongst the players was what cost us. They got caught between two stools and ended up doing neither all out attack or sitting back and holding on. Looked to me like a real lack of confidence amongst the players, no wonder after the weekend.

The manager is not perfect, but we are not Man City, we just can't go out and spend more money than everyone else to get it right, so we are always going to have issues somewhere in the team.}

maybe gomez would be an improvement on our centerbacks. it wouldn't exactly be hard. with the style of play liverpool use, they need players who rarely make mistakes and i don't even think gomez would be a solution for our centerback problems but who knows.

Gomez had a decent game, he is young, he should be allowed to make mistakes and figure out things as he plays. It is the way most footballer's mature.

However, one thing Gomez needs to stop doing, immediately, is pulling his opponent back. It is so blatant and a yellow card every time. The first yellow was a tug if he had avoided that, he would not have been sent off. Kid needs to learn this but he has time. Show some patience, it is always harder to develop as a defender than a midfield or attacker. In my opinion, at least.

The only thing I really saw Gomez do any wrong, was regarding their first goal. I don’t know if it’s just lack of pace or inexperience or what but he looked a bit lazy when he should have been tracking the player who crossed it in. Kind of looked a bit confused who he should have been closing down tbf though so i’ll just say lack of experience which he can learn from. Obviously the goal wasn’t his fault because Lovren should have just kicked the ball instead of falling on his arse and missing the ball but hey ho.

Gomez had a very solid game BUT Ed is correct. There is a lack of confidence in this team right now and the City result is clearly lingering as Ed said. Had we taken our chances, we would have been 4-1 up and case closed BUT this crisis of confidence, may have done us in this game. Take Firmino's penalty, he did every thing right BUT it just did not come off for him. Also, nobody will sell you their best CB in Jan. so forget it. We are LFC and since we can't drop 300m on CB's every season, we have to be creative. That is the issue now. The manager is not perfect BUT is still the manager and it is due to him that we even had the chance to play in this game and in the CL. We just need to stick together n stop this "Klopp Out" nonsense. as it is an overreaction and it is not helping.

Did Gomez overlap with Skrtels time at the club, Mango?
