Hi ed's i would like to here your thoughts on who have been some of the best coaches we have had over the last decade.

i know a few are valero, paco etc.

{Ed001's Note - in what way? I mean what is it you want to know about them? Or do you just want a list of the better ones mate?}

sorry as in just who you think have been some of our best coaches rather than why.

{Ed001's Note - last decade? Rodgers was a decent coach, he just struggled with the management side of things and his refusal to accept Pep Segura as a director of football was a massive mistake on his part. Valero and Ayesteran were both excellent coaches. Other than that, we have not had the best of coaches really, since the days of Evans.}

cheers!

i know its not Liverpool related but what about on a global perspective who are some of the current coaches which tickle your fancy.

{Ed001's Note - off the top of my head, only Nagelsmann and Michael O'Neill jump to mind.}

Rodolfo did a fantastic job with the youth set up when he was there as a youth team manager, then as a youth recruiter. Did a decent job elsewhere too in similar roles but not sure what went on behind the scenes to spoil that, think I heard something somewhere explaining his exit (something to do with Rodgers too possibly) but it has slipped my mind now. Steve Clarke wasn't bad. Linders is rated very very highly and is there now. Hugh McAuley, Steve Highway (who I believe is either gone back or was rumoured to be going back recently) etc.

{Ed001's Note - I forgot about Linders, apologies to him. Borrell was not a coach mate. Steve Clarke is ok but I would not put him near the bracket of Ayesteran or Valero. Heighway was not here within the last decade was he? I thought he was removed 2005 or 2006?}

Didn't Rodolfo not coach the youth teams like Segura did after him?
He was the U-18/ U-23 coach if memory serves and coached the likes of Messi, Fabregas and Pique in the Barcelona youth ranks - read somewhere that Messi credits Rodolfo for bringing him through, maybe I dreamt it lol. Can't remember what year Heighway left now, memory is not what it used to be. Think Rafa moved him on actually yeah around '06, so out a year damn it lol.
He was very highly thought of by Stevie G, Carra, Owen, Fowler I believe.

{Ed001's Note - I might be misremembering, but I remember Borrell as the overseer, like a manager rather than a coach, of the academy. I don't remember him actually doing the coaching with us at all.

Heighway I remember saying at the time should have stayed and been included in the new set up but everyone else on the site thought I was just out of touch and we needed rid as he hadn't brought through enough players!}

I think he started out as recruitment manager yeah but pushed his way into the U18 manager's seat or vice versa. Then he may have gone back to his old role again or up to managing the old U21's before leaving under a bit of a cloud/ controversy - I'm probably wrong mate, sometimes I look at the wife and wonder who the hell she even is lol.
