Ed025

Question for you mate

In your honest opinion can you see Klopp bringing silver wear to the club this season and also do you thin Koeman is the correct man to take Everton a step closer to the top 4-5.

{Ed025's Note - i think liverpool have a decent chance of winning a cup savvy, but think the league and CL are out of their reach this season, on koeman the jury is still out i think but given time and the resources he could well have everton vying for the top 4, but it may take a couple of seasons mate..

Ed025 Obviously I want Liverpool to win everything but realistically this year I would be very happy with a FA Cup win with a decent show in the league and champions league with a top 4 finish, if Klopp doesn't win something this year then questions do need to be asked.

moving onto Everton what would you call a realistic target this year for you guys? I do like your squad you have some very talented lads in there with 2-3 Youth players coming on leaps on bounds Calveton Lewin looks a good prospect, Holgate looks very tidy and everyone seems to have forgotten about Lookman he gets you excited when he is on the ball I would say a top 6 finish with a very good showing in the Europa league would be a good season for you lads I do think in January you need to address the striker position but you never know Calveton might come on leaps and bounds in 6 months and that young lad from Hadjuk split if I remember correctly looked very good.

{Ed025's Note - my guess would be everton finishing 7th kloppers, its going to take time for that many new players to gel and not having a recognised CF will make it difficult to win games, calvert lewin is doing a good job but is only young yet so i dont want to set expectation too high mate..

Everton will regret not signing a decent striker this summer. They do have a decent enough midfield and fullbacks (once Coleman is back) but Rooney does not cut it for me as a lone striker and Sandro is just not ready to be the main man yet. There is a possibility they could creep into 6th spot if Arsenal have a shocking meltdown but again that is hard to see. Their CBs are also not that good imo. Keane is ok but Jagielka and Williams need immediate replacing. They have become the twiddle dee and dum of Everton's defense.

I've got a bet on Liverpool to win the league and Everton to get relegated. I don't honestly believe Everton will go down but I do think they'll struggle to be in the top half. 😎😎.

{Ed025's Note - you should have just threw your money down a grid then ings, its no wonder bookies are so rich with bets like that, did the guy behind the counter start laughing when you handed the slip i with liverpool to win the league on it?..

Yes, but he didn't laugh at all when he saw the one on Everton to get relegated ;)

I would really like Everton to be challenging again with us (ahead of all the London and Manchester sides), but i think as you say Ed025, they are a few years off yet.

I disagree on them lacking a striker personally. I think in Rooney, Lookman, Lewin and Sandro they have more than enough. Rooney is good for 15 a season playing as a striker and Lewin and Lookman need games to fulfil their massive potential. They could be special.

Midfield they're strong with Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin, Gueye and Klaasen. After that though the quality drops off severely. The likes of Barkley, Davies, McCarthy etc are just headless chickens and thugs. Not good enough. Davies has potential but i don't see him ever being a top 4 level midfielder.

Their wingers i just don't get. Bolasie and Mirallas are all pace no ability. Really don't see the point in them. Mirallas is also a complete thug too.

I think they are weak in the full back areas. Baines is well past his best, Garbutt needs games to develop, Coleman may never be the same player again although touch wood he comes back stronger, Martina is a stop gap at best, and JJ Kenny needs to be playing more.

Centre backs i rate Williams as a leader but not a player, Holgate and Pennington have potential, but after that they are very poor here. Funes Mori is yet another thug, Keane is so average it is unreal, Jagielka looks like a slightly more fragile Agger. Don't see how they can challenge with a central defence that is literally weaker than Liverpool's. That takes some doing!

Keeper wise i personally think in Pickford they have England's number 1 for the next decade so that was a great buy.

Hope to see them back up their with us in a few years, but they are still carrying too many poor players, and too many thugs with a mid table mentality. I thought Koeman was better than that but after the Derby last year i question that. I don't see him as the man to take Everton to the next level. They have the investors now, but they need a coach with less ego and more tactical nous.

{Ed025's Note - i will have a lot of what your saying MK but there are some things you have wrong mate, davies has the potential to play for england and is a fine talent, keane is very good and bolasie on his day is unplayable, this thug thing is a bit over the top as well, yes the occasion got the better of us in the derbies but i dont think we went out with the intention to kick you off the pitch (even though i admit it looked awful), im not williams biggest fan but the rest of our defence is good and a lot stronger than liverpools thats for certain, koeman is not as incisive enough for me even though i think hes a good manager, i would like him to be less cautious and more attacking at times like when we played city and let them off the hook when down to 10 men, we have some cracking youngsters at the club though so the future is looking bright, but its the here and now that supporters are interested in so we need to knit as a unit quickly if we are to step up to the mark this season, but it wont be easy..

I still think Everton will finish above arsenal and spurs. I would hate to be the person to try and get Everton into the top four as there are too many top teams with lots of money they'd have to displace. I agree with ed025 that the jury is out. I see only one reason they can't be the next spurs and that is a quick striker. Rooney is fantastic plating in the hole but he is at his best with someone good in front of him.

I think liverpool can win the league if we get lucky concerning injuries. Depth cost us last year and it isn't such an issue now but I would be happy with a top three finish. I think liverpool are one of the three best teams so that should be achievable. I don't see us seriously pushing for the domestic cups. Maybe FA cup but the league cup will be for the kids. I think we are in with a shout in ucl, quarter finals and I'd be pleased any further and I'll be well happy. If we beat city you will start hearing the pundits talk about liverpool as serious title contenders for the first time this season.

{Ed025's Note - although i dont think you will win the league superred i still think you will be right up there, with a better defence you would be a lot closer i believe mate..

Yeah my thinking too ed025. Cheers for the reply.

Concerning lovren, we have seen him perform excellently for Southampton and it is possible he puts in a great season. Especially as he is kind of fighting for his place with lfc keen to bring in the right new cb.

Cheers for your thoughts Ed025. Hopefully you come 4th at the expense of Chelski, Citeh and United. Realistically though, I've got you down for 6th place at Arsenals expense. Their midfield is absolutely woeful!

{Ed025's Note - i would take 6th MK especially as we are re-building mate..

{Ed025's Note - i dont know whether it is the players or the way they are being coached superred..
