Eds, i know its generally harder to do business in january and many clubs are reluctant to sell so i am asking hypothetically.
If for example we where to keep coutinho until january and the club maintened its interest in lemar, woupd we be allowed to speak to monaco about lemar leading up to the window so they can asses their options and help move business along.
I guess by january we will have moved on from lemar anyway but this could relate to any player as coutinho is going to be unhappy and after seeing him in a new light over the past few weeks wouldn't be surprised if he acted like a pissy little child.

{Ed001's Note - it depends on the club seeking permission etc but of course clubs can get deals done and completed outside of the window even. It is purely that registration cannot be transferred outside of a transfer window.}

You reckon we will look to do replace phil in jan or wait til summer? A season is a long long time to keep a sulking player.

On that subject Ed001, do you think we need to directly replace Coutinho, have we already got the necessary players there or is it more a case of a higher level of squad ability is still needed? Also what is your view of where the squad is now, do you think it is better now than end of last season, even without Coutinho? Sorry for all the questions but you seem to have a level headed approach compared to some on here with agendas about players, owners and managers they want to play out.

{Ed001's Note - it would be a nice option to have, someone with his ability, in some games. I don't see it as essential to remain competitive though. We have improved and given the team more attacking options, whether he stays or leaves. We now have a genuine threat from the fullback positions, with a pair of fullbacks that can play good crosses and we have someone who can deliver quality delivery from a corner in TAA. We do look in a much better position than the start of last season.}
