I have read that Schalke declined the offer from Juventus for Höwedes.

As i have read his name a few times on here now has there ever been real interest/ did we talked to schalke? As a backup/ third choice he would be a good transfer.

{Ed002's Note - Whilst Subotic will be available at a very good price and he is a player who Klopp has worked with at his two previous clubs, the only real interest I am aware of this summer has been from Hamburg. Other clubs have moved on, but it is possible that Liverpool have shown an interest - but unlikely in my opinion.}

Cheers for the reply ed. What's your opinion on the player? As I've not seen much of him to be honest. Is he good enough to come in and start, would he just paper over the cracks or would he be a squad player?

{Ed002's Note - Subotic would certainly not be a starter and Klopp opted for Matip ahead of Subotic last year. He has struggled with injuries, not played well enough whilst at Cologne to attract a bid. Perhaps the MLS would be a better solution for both the player and Liverpool.}

Sorry, I missed Macca's post yesterday, but it is common knowledge that centre back Perr Schuurs, 17, is on Merseyside both Monday and Tuesday following his successful trial, he will go straight in to Mr Gerrard's U18 squad.

What is all the fuss about?
