I agree with Ed1 in that if a player doesn't want to be wth LIverpoool let him go. At the same time I see why we wouldn't sell. From an ownership perspective I know there's been criticism on here regarding FSG and not wanting to spend money etc etc. I'm actually from a city just outside Toronto (home of the blue Jays), whom are in the same division as FSG's Boston Red Sox, a team wth so much history much like Liverpool, whom play in Fenway park, one of the most iconic stadiums in the world, like Anfield, and honestly, FSG are winners. They've won multiple World Series Championships since taking over, they spend money every year and improve and grow their team, and are always a threat to win a championship. This is a direct reflection on the ownership and the desire to win and I'm telling you FSG didn't buy Liverpool to be the Tampa Bay Rays of world football (if you will), they want to win and build a contagious culture of winning as they did in Boston, a team that once had the longest drought of a world championship in MLB and have now won multiple times since their first in the 2000's. Henry and FSG know how to win and how to build this culture and sustain rather than be a flash in the pan. They aren't experienced in football no but winning is winning, and I applaud the direction they are taking with Liverpool personally. Mistakes have been made by their subordinates as far as transfers go, however we will continue to see the culture build once again at Liverpool and be a consistent player in the CL and on the world stage. It began a few years ago and will continue to grow. Up the reds! YNWA.

FSG have invested plenty of money into the squad.

But we continued to be wasteful in the transfer market under previous managers.

Dry good post mate. Nice to see some positivity for a change.

Fsg have been owners of LFC for 7 years? It is our most unsuccesful period for winning trophies in a long time. Meanwhile other owners, have taken clubs from nowhere to be PL champions. Make of that as you will.

Net spend on players since 2013 is 107 mill. But it's not Fsg as they said we could rival any team in the world for players. We are lead to believe that both Rodgers and Klopp just refuse to spend this money and prefer to balance the books every season as managers 🤔.

{Ed002's Note - Posts such as these are embarrassing and show how far down the food chain many of the Liverpool fans like are. FSG have put very large sums of money in to the club and have had to take on debt when the club was losing £1M per week for years. Net spend on players is completely irrelevant. Who was paying the wages, who paid theperhaps £80-90M in agent fees in that time? Who pays the matchday costs? Who pays for the stadium? Who pays the taxes? You clearly don't understand anything about the running of a football club at all. And you have just provided another example of why we try to avoid discussing money.}

By your rationale Irish, you would prefer Moore to return, or Hicks and Gillette?!?!
Eds keep reminding us that FSG don't buy the players.

Irish, that is part of the issue. In the last 7 years more clubs have had more money making it ever harder to win it. Yes Leicester did but I doubt that will be happening again any time soon. We won a couple of trophies under hicks and gillet- does that make them better owners?

I'm a huge Boston red sox fan, I went to fenway every summer as a kid. I was buzzin when I heard fsg was buying liverpool, what they have done for the red sox recently is unbelievable and they will do the same with liverpool.

Great original post and as I have lived in the U. S for 14 years (just moved to Brussels this summer), the OP is absolutely correct in his analysis of FSG as the owners of the Red Sox. They may not know a lot about football and have hired people who don't seem up to the job BUT make no mistake about it, they have no problems winning and no problems spending money as we have seen both at the Red Sox and at LFC.

Jayden, none of what yo posted is true and I'm afraid that you are falling for pathetic conspiracy theories going around on the web by deluded people who call themselves LFC "fans" BUT have no clue what they are talking about. Ed02 has informed us multiple times on how FSG run LFC (at least an overview) . I propose you ask the Ed's to educate you on it as they did many of us here before posting conspiracy theories.

Actually, FSG were happy to back Klopp all the way this summer. It's other factors that prevented those players signing.

FSG have made the mistake of hiring people to run the club who either don't understand football, don't understand the club or both.

They've had 1 clearout after the Suarez racism debacle. It seems they need another.
How do Chelsea with no european football sign Kante for £30m without a peep from Leicester or the player? I'm sure LC didn't want to sell their best player, but Chelsea got the deal done quietly for a bargain price.

There is much wrong with LFC at the moment:
-Player recruitment and release is appalling. We can't secure our top targets for outrageous prices and the whole world knows about it. We embarrass ourselves and upset other clubs and players. This extends from first team players right down to academy players. We don't seem to be able to scout players anymore, relying on poaching them from premier league teams or we buy players who are not ready and then don't develop them. We ask too much for unwanted players stifling their careers. We don't use the loan system well.

This one aspect that is far more important than net spend and transfer funds. Someone senior at LFC needs to pull their head out of the sand and start looking at how business is conducted in modern day football and learn from the clubs who have stolen a march on us. We need to be honest with ourselves and not say "We are LFC" instead.

If people are going to start owner bashing, they need to look back a lot further than FSG, then ask the question, why have Man United overtaken LFC over the last 25 years?

We were held back for years and then we all know what happened when we were sold to Gillet and Hicks.

The only problem I have with FSG is they are mostly running the club from the U. S. and trusting the staff they have hired for the club. Besides that they have done fantastic for the club considering the state it was left after H&G. They have even expanded the stadium and want to expand it even more. That costs a pretty penny on it’s own let alone everything else they have had to do financially for the club. Too many people just look at how much we spend and receive in the transfer market and assume they are cheap skates.
And this is where this site comes into play, without this site everybody would be on Twitter with #FSGOUT every second of the day.

My only problem with FSG is that they are intelligent businessmen who have had a few years to learn from their mistakes transfer wise but don't seem to have any idea on how to improve/ learn from it. All the new 'top people' are from backgrounds of making money.

Its still just a business to them and not a passion. Obviously the Red SOX WAS A PASSION. I totally understand they expect returns on their investment but I just think they must have asked the wrong people for advice.
