Question for Ed01

Out of all the hundreds of possible targets that have been bounced about recently, or possible names that haven't, who would you have liked to see come into the squad (realistic targets only) and then what would be your ideal lineup assuming your preferred players had come in?

NB - this is in no way trying to gain information on transfers - this is hypothetical only. I would just like to know what players/ line ups you would like to see at LFC?

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - line ups isn't really my thing, as the team would vary depending on opposition if it was up to me. For all people say don't tinker etc, let them worry about us etc, even the greatest of them all, Sir Bob Paisley used to change his tactics and players depending on opponent.

However I would have liked to see us sign Koulibaly. He is not ideal, but he is big, strong and fast, plus he is very used to playing a high line and concentrates well. He is a bit lacking technically, still a bit raw, but technique can be refined more easily than the wrong mentality.

Other than that, I have to be honest I think four signings is plenty, especially as 3 will be in the team and there is likely to be another change, in terms of Clyne out for either Gomez or TAA, so the team will lose all its togetherness if you buy more.}

Agree with this Ed although if Couts does go I'd like to see someone like Insigne or Keita come into midfield. I'm not convinced Milners best position in the midfield and losing Coutinho means we're pretty thin on creativity, particularly with Lallana injured.

We're all fairly glad we signed mane despite his mentality so sometimes it's worth the risk.

I'm all for giving players are chance to settle, especially if they're young and come from abroad but migs isn't young, wasn't new to the league and been with us close to 4 years. Is he going to improve much more than where he's at? The only player who's done that is Lucas but he was young, foreign and had to adapt to a new position so he neede more time. Migs has been keeper his entire life!

Apparently ED. The only player Paisley tried to do a man marking role on was Alan Ball and it failed miserably.

Its in his autobiography, I highly recommend it.

A brilliant book about a brilliant, quietly spoken, decent genius of a man.

YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - he was the greatest of all time.}
