So a new bid has gone in for couts. When's the dead line for this one 7pm tonight, tomorrow or the 31st. 😂😂
On a serious note eds 1. Your a well respected Liverpool fan what's your opinion on this what do you think we should do. Sell him or keep him.
Sorry if this has been asked before.
As always thanks.

{Ed001's Note - for the right price, let him make his dream move.}

The club would lose what little credibility it had by backing down now, especially after publicly stating he's not for sale at any price.

It would also send out the wrong singnals to the rest of the squad, U18's, 23's etc. Push hard enough and you'll get your way.

It's a dream move absolutely but he has been interested in the move for over a year and with this in mind, the contract should not have been signed in January.

Sorry I don't buy all this nonsense about him not thinking Barcelona wouldn't come in for him.

Is this the right price though ed001 or will this be rejected and hold out for the £150m offer?

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea, there are too many factors involved fro me to know that without knowing any of those factors.}

Thanks for the reply eds
Not getting into money to much but you think the right price has been offered yet.

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry.}

Every player has his price. The right price yes. The wrong price and three magic beans. No.

Thanks mate.

Ok ed, let him make his dream move, but then what? Who replaces him in the next week? It doesn't matter how much money we're offered, this deal has no upside unless a great replacement is realistically lined up, and we are yet to see any evidence of that.

{Ed001's Note - we have already replaced him from where he played last season, so you are talking about replacing him where he could potentially play.}

7.) 23 Aug 2017
23 Aug 2017 08:28:57
Of course I am, but what difference does it make? Whether he was meant to play CM or AM, someone needs to fill the hole he leaves if he goes to Barcelona.

{Ed001's Note - because the hole from last year has already been filled. So there is no 'hole' to fill.}

Definitely a midfielder needs to come in if Coutinho goes. We replaced the left winger Coutinho with Salah but Klopp wanted Coutinho in midfield for this season so a creative midfielder would be a suitable replacement now. Seems Real will let Kovacic move on at the right price so I say we give them and Southampton what they want for VVD and Kovacic before selling Coutinho to Barca.

Eds its crazy too think we have replaced him but we still in same spot position as last year wid no cover for salah an mane an we know wat appened last year without them, surely we can't b stupid enough too make same mistake twice, an I haven't even mentioned defence yet which blatantly needs quality cover.

{Ed001's Note - but we aren't in the same position at all. That is incorrect. We now have two wingers, rather than one.}

10.) 23 Aug 2017
23 Aug 2017 08:45:19
We have already seen Salah or Mane push over to the left. We havnt struggled to score goals so far, even without Coutinho.
The struggle against Palace was the amount of changes.

23 Aug 2017 10:14:12
Ed I think you're being pedantic. At the end of the day, we need players like him if we want to progress.

{Ed001's Note - I am not being pedantic. Everyone is being pathetic about it. We replaced him already, so what is the issue? We knew this situation could arise, hence the attempts to buy more midfielders. If he goes, he goes. If he stays and performs great. At the end of the day, it really is unimportant, he is just one player and it is a team game.}

12.) 23 Aug 2017
23 Aug 2017 09:22:12
Come on ed mate I think he means that he was expected to play in the middle infront of 2 CM's pulling the strings taking our freekicks, Corners, play making and picking out passes on the wings, our go to man. We are all thinking/ panicking who does all these things if he moves mate as one thing us certain we don't have anyone else on the same level as him to play centrally. ?

13.) 23 Aug 2017

The plan was to inject creativity into midfield by virtue of Coutinho. If Coutinho leaves, a creative hole in midfield is left behind.

{Ed001's Note - how is there a hole? We managed last season without him there. We have managed so far this season without him there. You are speculating about a possibility there may be a gap that doesn't actually exist until it has been made for him.}

14.) 23 Aug 2017
23 Aug 2017 10:25:12
So the Eds have been telling us all this time that Keita has nothing to do with Coutinho yet now you're implying that it does?

{Ed001's Note - what? No, now who is being pedantic. I was implying that the club would not need him in midfield either if they signed Keita.}

15.) 23 Aug 2017
23 Aug 2017 10:27:13
And that's nonsense Ed, you must have a short memory because we didn't manage that well against the deep-lying defences. There was no one in midfield creative enough to help unlock defences, Coutinho was instead stuck out wide helpless.

How about the consideration we need a bigger squad for UCL? Assuming we qualify.

{Ed001's Note - nonsense? If you say so. No point you carry on with this I am bored now.}

16.) 23 Aug 2017
23 Aug 2017 10:30:59
I think it basically comes down to the difference between Salah and Coutinho, with all due respect to Salah he isn't remotely as creative an influence on the team as Cout and is certainly not a direct replacement. It's like ripping the creative heart out of the team and replacing it with pace.

17.) 23 Aug 2017
23 Aug 2017 10:44:12
I don't know why you get so narky ed, it's just a debate.

{Ed001's Note - it is not a debate, and I wasn't narky, just can't be arsed with someone trying to be an arse and put words in my mouth. You twist what I said to mean completely different things, so it is pointless. I can't be arsed with that.}

18.) 23 Aug 2017
23 Aug 2017 10:45:28
You're basically saying that it's not a big deal losing the team's best player with a week left until the window closes.

{Ed002's Note - Team's need to make provisions and Liverpool has had more than a year to prepare for this potentially happening. Klopp should be well prepared. He has a liking for Oxlade-Chamberlin who he could bring in.}

19.) 23 Aug 2017
23 Aug 2017 11:12:05
Lallana being injured doesn't help. He is the creative player to play in that midfield and WANTS to play for us! We do need one creative player in the midfield 3 in my opinion.

20.) 23 Aug 2017
23 Aug 2017 15:54:59
If you're not being narky then you're just overreacting to what I said. I didn't put words in your mouth - it has been said all along that Keita is not a Coutinho replacement, hence why I questioned your statement that LFC trying to players like Keita has to do with Coutinho departing.

Yes it may be a team game, but the best teams have some of the best players to give them a competitive advantage. You're acting like it's not a big deal because he's not leaving a particular position threadbare, which is a completely wrong viewpoint.

21.) 23 Aug 2017
23 Aug 2017 15:55:11
Yes Welsh, exactly. Lallana out, Coutinho off, who would we have in midfield that is creative? Grujic perhaps. Problem is he's a pretty unknown quantity.
