I'd put Gomez ahead of the 2 of them and he's hardly played there for us. In this case I'd rather go with the devil I don't know.

Klavan lacks pace but a a better defender than reckless Lovren. Lovren makes 2 mistakes every game! One he gets away with it the other he takes a card or cost a goal! Klavan is playing for a wrong team! High line with Klavan or Lovren is a comical. Both doesn't fit in with liverpool playing style!
Klavan is a decent 4ty choice CB for the money he earns and what he brings. Lovren should continue his career at Southampton!

Why "lol"? Gomez has to be given his chance at some point, just like Carra was given. He's not going to develop out of nowhere, he needs regular game time.

Klopp brought in Klavan so he obviously rates him and it's his high line tactic so he also believes he can play it.
Haven't seen it myself to be honest. All three CBs are poor and we have no idea about Gomez as he's barely kicked a ball for us.
If he starts with the untested Gomez it shows how poor two of the others really are when a kid, out for a year injured, who's barely kicked a ball for first team since gets on the field before them.

Klopp bought Klavan to play a handful of games a calendar year. 10 starts at best and most for cup completions. But we are in a situation where he starts more than Lovren!
You simply cannot play high line with slow centerbacks! No ways!

The same people wanting Gomez to be given the opportunity are the same ones that will put him down if he doesn't set the world on fire after 2 games. If he's given a chance he needs at least 10 consecutive games to bed in. Otherwise it's just another pointless exercise.

Sorry Ed, probably a bit of a broad statement. I guess my point being I don't want people knocking him down after 2 games. It's takes a while to get match ready and given his injuries 10 games isn't probably long enough!

is the thinking behind the interest in The Ox to play him as a right wing back (with TAA pushing for the position) and subsequently moving Joe Gomez into the CB position, if we don't bring in another CB in this window?

Gomez all the way, but with the supporters we have, he makes a couple of mistakes and he is hounded out the team like karius and his confidence knocked into last week.
