All in all then Ed your a big fan.

{Ed001's Note - actually quite like him as a bloke, big Liverpool fan but he was a terrible manager and it was a huge mistake by Moores to dick over Evans by bringing him in. Evans deserved far more respect than that prick Moores showed him.}

In fairness Ed, he was more successful than Evans. He did the treble after all!

{Ed001's Note - he had a lot more backing than Evans did, so that is not fairness. If Evans had been allowed to buy the defenders he wanted, instead of the snide tit Moores telling him there was no money and then, in the next breath, tell him that he had bought the scummy prick Collywobbles though, Evans would have won things.}

Fair enough, can't argue with that. Houlier never seemed the same manager after his illness. Made some terrible decisions.

Thank you for the reply ed. I was a bit young during his reign so my opinion of him is probably based more on his comments since leaving the club and his cup successes. It is strange and a shame that he wasn't able to get the best out of a bunch of very talented players. Fowler, Berger and litmanen come to mind but I'm sure there were plenty more who could have contributed more if utilised correctly.
On his appointment, it was absolutely bizzare and massively disrespectful to Roy Evans to make him co-manager. Should have either stuck with him or let him go, not undermine him in that manner.

{Ed001's Note - you also have to remember his treatment of Anelka, Nicky was a lovely lad but made the mistake of asking questions about tactics. Houllier hated anyone having an opinion of their own. He only wanted yes men. So, despite a deal having been agreed to sign Anelka on a permanent deal (and he was not going to be on a big wage either), Houllier sent him packing.

His treatment of Litmanen was essentially the same, froze him out because Jari had the temerity to question his tactics of 10 behind the ball.}

I didn't know that about Anelka or litmanen. Thanks for the response Ed. Informative as always. We could have had one heck of a side back then with the proper management and investment.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate. It is a shame as Houllier is a genuine fan and a genuinely nice guy away from management.}

Litmanen was one of my favourite ever players and Houillers treatment of him was criminal.

{Ed001's Note - I can remember us all screaming at Houllier to bring him on but he would just not bother or bring him on for 5 seconds at the end, just to prove a point that he was the boss. When you get a player of that much quality, you play him.}

I knew about anelka but i did not know that he did the same to litmanen, jeez how stubborn is that. Poison dwarf, are you referring to owen by any chance😂.
