After being asked if a certain amount had been offered for Coutinho, Klopp is supposed to have said " "They didn't offer that, we said no, yet they offered, I think tomorrow they will offer a McDonald's Happy Meal and we get the toy as well!? "

I don't get this at all. Where is this bravado and unjustified arrogance coming from? Can we have some titles and cups on display before we go around belittling and demeaning other teams? 80 Million, whether fair or not, is still a lot of money, and Barcelona is certainly a team to be respected regardless of what is happening today and their present circumstances. What's wrong with a simple "thanks, but no thanks"?

I really like the guy. I think he can deliver for LFC, and nothing irritates me more than Ed002 calling him a clown, sometimes. But, someone needs to screw in his head tight and tell him to be careful because "what goes around, comes around".

Stop talking like a neanderthal. You're lucky you have a forum to voice your gibberish.

You talk of showing Barcelona respect, where is the respect from them, the offer is an absolute pi$$ take and they are once again trying to play us as fools. Respect is earned and so far they have shown us none!

He does say a lot of silly things, but I think the amount of press managers and players get we are going to hear things that they later regret.

Imagine if you had someone listening to your every word and then sending it out to millions of people world wide.

Le5d just get this right. Are you one of the fans who talk about Liverpool lowballing other teams and taking the piss

The mighty Barcelona just got 200 mil and want a player that we have absolutely no need to sell. The only reason we need to spend any extra this window would be to replace him. If he stays we can afford vvd without him going. They dropped the ball by letting the iniesta and neymar situation surprise them in the same window, even balague has said they dropped the ball.

They want that player this year so desperately with 2 weeks left then they pay the big bucks.

Let's just go with your scenario. Who do we replace him with, when we now have two weeks to go.

The only way it won't feel as bad is if we take them for a ton of cash.

Who do you support.

Jordz - People like Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho (both of whom I dislike with extreme passion) talked with bravado, arrogance and an absurdly high sense of self-importance. But people listened because they could back up their words with the titles and trophies they had sitting behind them. Once again, Jurgen Klopp, for me, has the ability to bring us back to our "perch". But can we do it with class, dignity and respecting others in the same business? That's my point. You don't have to like or bow down to others (we have a rich enough history, pedigree and legacy), but let's not wander into the territory of all those loudmouths who mouth off whatever comes to mind just because we have a hundred microphones stuck in front of our faces.

Capo - I'm assuming your reply is to my OP.
I'm one of those fans that does not want Coutinho sold at any price.
I'm one of those fans that'll be happy to see him finish off his contract at Anfield.
I'm one those fans that couldn't give a damn about what Barcelona has gotten or is giving in terms of money, this past summer.
I'm of those fans who's primarily concerned with getting players like Keita and VVD in (at fair market prices) before deadline day.
And I'm of those fans that prefers our manager to be respected (as much as the entire club) and to talk in a manner to be taken seriously. So that he can avoid having to say "Oh, we were in trouble were we? I didn't know anything about that at all" in subsequent pressers, as he has done already.
Now read my OP, and then read your reply. I was talking oranges, you replied with bananas and questioned my club allegiance. But I trust all is clarified. If not, reading a third or fourth time is still okay.

I agree would be nice to do it with some class. Seems like it's missing out of todays game. Klopp's reputation has been this for a while even pre liverpool. It's not going to change mate.

Sadly the club is never going to be respected for a while due to things klopp has done with the tapping up and due to the way the we have handled transfers for years. Change and then time seems like the only thing that will fix that rep. Few titles would help too I guess :D.

Why. Like all this bollocks recently about letting players leave sith grace. What a load of tosh. If there knackered and oaps then yes fine. Not in there prime though. Never heard anything so absurd.

If tomorrow firmino really wanted to join United, should we just have the good grace to honour his wish.

It doesn't matter where Barcelona play. That's surely the level we want to get to. Why would we give them a player that makes them stronger and us weaker, if we have any sort of aspiration to achieve anything.

If we take anything out of the whole Suarez situation it's DON'T SELL YOUR BEST PLAYERS.

I dread to think what would have happened if the internet had been around in the days of Shankly, Busby and Clough! The internet would have exploded with all of the sensitive souls like you complaining about every little thing!
