Just putting this out there. If there's a chance that Barcelona will up their bid to an acceptable amount, but closer to the end of the transfer window, we won't be able to get a quality player in.
If the board suspects this, and they have a figure in mind that they will accept, will it not make sense to tell Barcelona this? Get the money in and get a replacement in.
I suspect that even though we want to keep Coutinho, there is a price that we will accept.

Sure, if there is such an amount. But it would seem there isn't.

I am a bit inclined to this option myself. Sell PC, but only after a silly money bid for Keita is accepted. And maybe one more midfielder.

I think Couts will stay, sulk through september, do OK for himself in oct-feb and play his heart out in the spring to get a spot on the Brazil team.

What's the profit on him got to do with it? Plus maybe the club shld learn when you sell a star for lots of money (Suarez) they're not easy to replace and can be replaced by shite! I'd be looking to get Mane on a new contract with a HUGE exit clause!

Its not easy for us to think of price (lucky its not our job) . But let's factor certain things in. Current market. Age. Tallent. Ability to improve when at new team. Marketability. Attitude. Fitness. Prone to injury. Team he's going to.
With all if that, I'd pruce him at around 65 - 80% of what Neymar went for. 65 cos at current he's not as big a player. But playing for barca, he could overtake Neymar.
