What a difference a week makes.

A week ago we'd had a great preseason, Salah was looking an inspired signing, Coutinho was staying and was happy to do so, VVD handed in a transfer request, Keita was buying a flat above the Kebab shop on Breck Road and there was even talk of Klopp being in contact with Mbappe!

Now Coutinho wants out, VVD is going to Chelsea, Keita has been gazumped, Salah's right peg is for standing on, Mbappe looks as far away from Liverpool as can be (not that I ever believed the rumour anyway) and we have just drawn away at Watford conceding 3 of the cheapest goals I've ever seen.

Truth is though nothing has really changed we are all just fickle football fans and like dogs we live in the moment. A win against Hoffeneim and we'll all be waxing lyrical about the fluency and Mane, Firmino and Salah.

But isn't that football these days? Nobody's got time. Everything has to be now and you're only as good as your last performance. We are still in good shape guys I'm still expecting a good season and one performance away from home on the opening day hasn't changed that.

Coutinho might go. He might stay. VVD might sign. He might not. Keita might sign. He might not. None of these factors will dictate our success or failure this season it's more how we settle and adapt to the changes good or bad and whatever happens we have a very competitive squad anyway. With luck on injuries we could be right in the mix. Don't let one game cloud your view on the whole season.
