No VVD no Keita and possibly no Couts what should have been our chance to finally push into being a serious and continuous top 4 contender lies in ruins and I'm sorry if I sound miserable but if Couts goes and we can't get anyone else in then 5th or 6th is where we will finish this season . Terrible shame as i seriously thought for the first time in 25yrs plus that were we actually going to start building a team and squad to match any of our rivals .

OP, VVD and Keita have been a no-go from the get-go. Why do you seem so surprised and sound sad, exactly?

Just finished my second box of Kleenex there now Davey 😭😭 all I was trying to state was what seemed so positive before the transfer window opened has been very disappointing if you think that this squad minus Couts will really challenge this year then your deluded my friend.

There are 18 days left in the window, the club are no doubt actively pursuing deals (with the Eds and Macca already pointing out that something may be possible regarding VVD and Keita) . Overall we've improved the squad thus far and I know it's not enough and I know we need to continue working on our deficiencies but how about we get behind the team and remain optimistic for the season? It's one game in, last year Chelsea's start wasn't the best (and were torn apart by Arsenal as well as being soundly beaten by us) but went on to win it. Whinging about everything on the first weekend of the season doesn't in anyway help. I don't mean to rant but but we're all in it together and we have to get behind the team, and that means staying positive.

Window isn't shut yet lad. I have a feeling there's a lot being worked on behind the scenes. If Coutinho goes and it's looking increasingly likely, despite what ex Liverpool players are saying on TV, I think the club will make a huge statement. Have a little faith, it's still early days.
