While I agree that our defenders are poor I am so surprsed that it's always Lovren getting hammered all the time, Matip was also very poor yesterday and for a lot of last season. In my opinion we don't have a very good, let alone great CB at the club, that's our biggest problem for many seasons now. Klopp has to address this before the season starts, he's into his third season now and has been awful in addressing our biggest problem.
If he doesn't finally get it sorted we will really struggle to get top 4 and considering he promised the title to the owners he's as far away from that now with our defense as we've ever been.

Matip was twice as bad as Lovren yesterday. Strolling around like a lazy git and did not win a single header as far as I can remember. Cannot believe we have gone from Carra and Hyppia to this shambles.

Whenever we have brought in a CB in recent years they have gone backwards in terms of capability, suggests to me the problem is more to do with training and set up rather than the actual players.

Matip got an easy ride last season because he was new to the league and had just had an operation on his ankle.

This year he has no excuses so he will be scrutinised more intensely.

Matip is very averaga and is made to look good by Moreno, Lovern, Klavan and Clyne.

Just that we got him in free transfer and with the quality of the other defenders make fan boys here think he is gr8.

He has not been able to put few decent games together.

Ridiculous. Matip is a decent cb, new boy last year so probably not going to be the leader back there. From open play our defence is decent.
