A question for Ed001: If Couts does leave in the next few days and we received substantial compensation, would an approach to Spurs for Dele Alli be worthwhile? While I understand he choose spurs over us in the past, he is a Liverpool supporter. I always get the impression with Spurs that they're always is a figure for their players.

{Ed001's Note - I doubt they would sell for a reasonable figure mate.}

I think we can forget about reasonable figures now Ed001. FSG will pull down Barca's pants when selling Coutinho and Levy will return the favour if we go for any of Spurs' midfielders. There is going to be some shameless money exchanging hands over the next 3 weeks and LFC will have a big role to play in that merry go round.

I'd take dele alli as a coutinho replacement all day long. I'm sure spurs rate him more highly than they do coutinho so we'd need to offer everything we get for couts plus some imo.

Eds do you think spurs would sell for a ridiculous figure like whatever that may be?

{Ed001's Note - they will sell if they got ludicrous amounts yes.}

If you were Dele Alli would you seriously see Liverpool as a step up from Spurs right now? He'll get his big money move sooner rather than later but it'll be to a club that can challenge for the big trophies.

{Ed025's Note - your being very harsh on your own club there smeg, although it pains me to say it liverpool are still one of the biggest draws in world football mate and if alli was offered the choice between spurs and liverpool then there would only be one winner, levy is bugger to deal with though so it wont be easy..

And Alli's a die hard LFC fan too. If we had him, he would not turn his back on us the moment Barcelona and Real came calling. We could actually build a team around a young lad that will be in for the long haul, not simply see LFC as a stepping stone to La Liga's elite.

Spurs Have a budget cap and if they wanted to keep alli if lfc came for him then they would have to break that cap and give him a new contract.

If that were to happen then kane and eriksen would demand higher wages then Rose etc. If he wanted to come to us then I think levy would let him go but it would be for a ridiculous figure.

I know it's 20/ 20.But seems a bit ironic to speculate spend 100mil on a youth player spurs would make a killing off of!? And on top of that a player we were in for and could have bought for a quarter of this fee.!? Eds, what was the killer in the deal for dele alli coming to us again?

{Ed025's Note - £500k faith, MK dons wanted £5.5m and liverpool offered £5m and said take it or leave it...and they left it..

Would love to purchase Alli, but Levy would ask for something like 200m. He never sells cheap and selling one of their best players and still very young to a direct competitor.

120 million pounds for Dele Alli maybe Ed001? After Coutinho's sale, that should be well within FSG's reach plus VVD. One can dream but never say never. For once, I 'd like to see the club do something unpredictable.

{Ed001's Note - I very much doubt they would sell for that amount. Levy would want more.}

I think people make too much of a player is a die hard fan . his favourite player growing up was probably Gerrard doesn't mean he is going to sign even if there was any remote opportunity.
