I was very impressed with the U23s today, especially Yan Dhanda and Matty Virtue, by far the two best players on the pitch. Lloyd Jones and Nat Phillips were the stand out defenders. Herby Kane was everywhere and created all kinds of space but won't get the headlines. Its only the first game but these kids are talented.

Yan Dhanda looked great in the no.10 role, looks to be maturing well and seems to have added a real goal threat to his game. I agree though, mentioned him last year too, but Virtue might well be worth a shout at some point. He's everywhere on the pitch and able to do it all - a bit like Henderson, not the flashiest but makes the whole thing stick.

Aside from those, agree on the defence and Brewster seems to have also grown quite a bit! Looking much more like a physical presence at striker. Nice for Ings to get 45mins and on the scoresheet. could have had two.
