Dear Eds.
What is your take on Hakim Ziyech as a replacement for Coutinho if the need arises or who would you go for in the time available.

{Ed002's Note - Comes with baggage and very, very one footed (left). This was discussed a little last week. I have explained Meyer or Gomes would work for me.}

Fantastic player but caused a massive issue with the national team. The manager had the right to choose the team and when offered a way back he openly said he would not play whilst Morocco had the present manager.

However watched a lot of him including 3 matches at the stadium he has a magical left foot there is the redondo about him, not sure the mental strength is there. he sees the pass on another level maybe in the premiership you might need a Kante or magic with him. he could be a great player if he does not fix his atitude he might just become a poor mans fabregas

As a Moroccan supporter I believe he needs a really strong manager to get the best out of him or he will never realise his potential . However he is highly regarded by the Moroccan fans and Ajax fans good player would like to see if a klopp hug might help his career but no promises as he needs to know he has to work harder to stay in the team.

I know I'll probably get stick for saying it, but I wish we'd just use what we have. We have Henderson, Can, Gini, Milner and Ejaria to play in the deeper midfield roles. We also have Lallana, Grujic and Woodburn to play in the attacking midfield positions.

Coutinho played as a forward last season. We have signed Salah so whether intentionally or not, he replaced last seasons Coutinho. In midfield we now have Milner freed up to play there, and Grujic and Woodburn more than deserving of game time. Not to mention we could yet sign Chamberlain as well who despite being a winger can cover midfield adequately.

If we sign Meyer or take Gomes then for me someone goes. If it's Meyer, then Grujic or Lallana need moving on, and if it is Gomes then Can is definitely leaving because he wants to play. Meyer and Gomes aren't exactly massive upgrade (if at all) so why turnover more players unnecessarily?

Even in terms of wide players we have Mane, Salah, Origi, Kent, Ojo and are possibly adding Chamberlain. So where do we need to spend to replace Coutinho? In my mind, we just don't need to waste money trying to replace a player who Salah has already replaced.

Am I the only one genuinely excited at the prospect of players like Solanke, Grujic and Woodburn playing bigger roles next season? They are all potentially brilliant players!

Ed002 you have previously mentioned Insigne could be a smart option? Do you think we would go for him or if he would be interested in a move?

{Ed002's Note - He signed a new contract and Napoili are difficult to deal with but there is a little something going on in the background that could possibly see a move. I very much doubt it will be to Liverpool.}

Moroccan red, Redondo was one of my favourite non Liverpool footballers ever, the ability to stick a defender on their arse should never be under stated. Particularly when it's Gary Neville. If he's that kind of footballer, then sounds a good shout.

Always interesting to hear ed002s views on players

Ziyech is considerably better than Meyer though. Meyer manages only a handful of assists and goals (less than any of our current first team midfielders) and is certainly not an improvement on anything we've got already in our squad in that regard.

Ziyech on the other hand hits double figures for both goals and assists consistently and although on footed, we can all name dozens similarly one footed players who have reached the top of the game (Robben, Silva, etc)

I'd be awfully disappointed at replacing PC with Meyer. Sooner give the game time to the already better Grujic!

Not for me, Ed. I have seen both play (saw Meyer play at the Olympics and the U21 tourney this summer) and I'm sorry, Gomez is average and Meyer is not fit to carry Cou's training kit.
