Morning Ed1, do you consider Mignolet the favourite to start in the league? Do you think there's a chance we'll play one in league, one in cups and one in Europe?

Thanks mate, hope you're well.

{Ed001's Note - Migs is likely to hold onto his place until he makes a mistake or two. There is every chance Klopp gives one of the others a chance in different comps. Though it does depend on how Migs is getting on, as him being dropped will alter things.

Good thanks mate, how about yourself?}

Mignolet had a good season, I think he deserves to start.

Ed001 in your view is Migs is doing well?
I play goalkeeper and really don't like the way he is so weak at set pieces and corners and is still flapping and punching around. he has ironed out mistake or two out of his game but i don't think his general technique has at all improved. he is just a good shot stopper. he is always a second slow at every dead ball situation and almost never makes a clean catch.
he was supposedly doing well last bit of last season but there were still problems, the shear nervousness around anfield during corners and set pieces tells you all.
Also he can't find a LFC player when he kicks it out.
I would want to try Ward but as you have assessed we will begin with Migs and wait for mistake. That is not a good sign.

{Ed001's Note - at the end of the season there were major signs of improvement in those areas. Up until then I would have said he was terrible, not even a good shotstopper, but he looked a much better keeper at the end of the season. His confidence has clearly risen due to the training, which makes him much stronger coming out for balls in the air. I think he deserves to keep his place on his showing at the end of the season.}

I'm good thanks mate. Excited about the season ahead and looking forward to getting the window out of the way so there's no more bs to deal with.

Am I right in thinking that you felt Mignolet was starting to look good towards the end of last season?

I agree Ed, up until last season I thought he wasn't a decent keeper at all. Which was strange as he had the tools to be a very good keeper, he is tall, agile and quite strong. The fact that he is now playing more to his potential is very encouraging and also I think some credit has to go to Achterburg (who has come in for criticism) as they have clearly been working hard to improve, yeah Migs isn't world class, but he is at least a good competent keeper now, which is fine.
