On today's showing, if we got VVD and kept Coutinho I'd be really happy with the window. Coutinho through balls to Salah all day long! 😜.

The club is bigger than any player and we we're probably in a better position to sustain the loss of Coutinho than we were the losses of Torres and Suarez.

But Salah / Coutinho's too good a combination to miss out on. We have to keep Coutinho. Can we hide him somewhere until the 2nd of September?

We need to put our foot down and say no to Barcelona, just like we've been knocked back with Keita.

If he wants to go next season, then so be it but we need to be in a position where we can plan and identify a replacement. If we sell him this window it will be too late in my opinion.

Something, the whole "no one is bigger than the club" mantra is outdated and needs to be shelved. We are talking football reality here and not hypotheticals. The reality is that if Couts leaves us this summer, we will regret it, period. No player out there can come in and do the things and have the same influence he has on our team in the short team. Whether we are in a position to withstand his departure than when we let Torres or Suarez go remains to be seen hence, hypothetical, However, we have seen the way we rebounded from those departures and the results were disastrous and sorry, I'm in no mood to relive that again. I don't care how much the fee will be or who we may get to replace him, Couts needs to stay this season and that is that.
