Hi ED1, one more question for you. Milner was not happy playing as a bit part player for City. How is he satisfied to be played out of position at LFC for the 2nd season? Is it the age? where he feels LFC is best club for him right now or no top club has shown interest in him? Thanking you in advance.

{Ed001's Note - it is because he was playing regularly.}

Well he is playing regularly as a fullback. Although he was promised a midfield position by Rodgers but Milner must know himself he isn't going to be first choice with the quality we now have in midfield.

Milner might not be very happy for long if Robertson is the intended fullback that provides the width. No place for him in midfield and Robertson is a natural left footer who will offer much more going forward. I can see Milner leaving in January if he loses his left back spot (only free space in the first team for him until Robertson steps in) . If he wants regular football, then there is going to be an issue. Hopefully he puts his personal targets to one side and can be an useful utility player for us next season.

If everyone is fit, RB is the only place I see Milner playing in and again, that is debatable. Love his attitude and selflessness but that can only get you so far esp. if we want to get to the next level.

I agree can't see him getting anywhere in midfield, defence maybe initially but I expect Robertson to take left eventually, and Alexander Arnold or Clyne will get right.

Great pro but I can't see where he's going to play next season, he could be possibly sold in January window depending on deals and progress of youngsters.

Full back births are starting to look stronger to me lot of choice.

Alexander Arnold.
Clyne.
Robertson.
Flannaghan.
Milner.

We still have Moreno too although I do expect him to leave this window.

Milner will definitely get a fair share of midfield games and i reckon he knows that.

I suspect many don't quite appreciate the experience we have with our temporary left-back.

There were times when he was setting up all kinds from an advanced midfield role if my mind serves me correctly.

Great player to have at your disposal.

I also suspect that that defensive role will make him an even better player.

Why not throw him in front of the defence as a dm? Why not?

If I remember rightly didn't he finish with most assists for the season when playing in the midfield.?

Milner is completely overlooked, valuable player, would expect him to take over the Lucas shaped hole in the squad, cover for most positions.
