Hi Eds are we looking for a replacement and/ or competition for Clyne?

Seems to me that whilst Clyne will be first choice RB this coming season after we haven't moved for Pereira, Trent Alexander-Arnold will be pushing him for a spot there and like Ed025 says, Clyne can also cover for Robertson (should we sign him) at left back.

Clyne plays right back though so is it taa right back with Milner and clyne fight taa and Robertson.

TAA is the competition and injury permitting I expect TAA to move ahead of him.

What he means is Robertson will go left back and Milner right back with Clyne as back up. That's what I think will happen, I thought Milner was good last season at left back and should be even better at right back.

How is Clyne competition for Robertson when they play opposite sides of the defence?

I would of sworn that TAA was the competition / alternativ to Clyne. Do you expect us to see another LB join, besides Robertson, or will we keep Milner as alternativ?

{Ed025's Note - TAA is not quite ready for me mate but i could be proven wrong i suppose..

Think Milner would be quality at RB. Do think TAA has shown enough for a shot at that position too. Understudy perhaps?
Wonder if Spurs have shown interest in Clyne? They usually like our players or targets. Were they also in for him at Palace or Saints?

TAA and Robertson are quite limited to their respective flank, but both Clyne and Milner can do a job on either side. Robertson and Milner start to start at Watford? Milner and Clyne? Robertson and Clyne? Preseason will tell, the competition for places are on.

I can't disagree with you Ed025, but I guess you'd have to ask yourself would you rather persist with Clyne or let TAA develop and get some experience? I personally would like to see him given a chance because he represents real potential.

{Ed025's Note - i would personally go with milner licky, then play TAA in the cups etc and let him find his feet and see if he can step up to the plate mate..
