Re: Everton spending

To be fair I think they've bought quite well. At this rate they could finish 7th next season ;)

yeah and at this rate we might finish 8th, say what you want about Everton, at least they are improving their squad.

Get a grip. Even if we didn't sign a single player we would still finish above Everton.

{Ed025's Note - you may regret those words at the end of next season CJ..

If they finish above us I'm sure they'll make a DVD about it.

I agree with you ed25, I know your an Everton fan and all and it pains me to see them doing well in this window. Not to mention the signings you are looking at. I see many people saying your new signings aren't that great, well I completely disagree, it's making your team better incredibly in my opinion and im gutted about it lol.

Say what you want CJ, im a football fan as well as a Liverpool fan and right now, Everton are doing business a lot better then we are, 5 days in and they've gone and do what they intended to do, strengthen their weak positions. We however, well need I say more?

I thought we'd of had a LB, CB and maybe even a RB signed by now, should've been sorted before the window even opened yet we go and get Salah? a player let's be honest, we didn't need him.

Wake up.

{Ed025's Note - the thing is teabag that supporters get restless, we have been there and it seems that other clubs are making progress while you are static, and guys get scared that all the good ones will be gone by the time your club gets its arse into gear, it also can seem that at the end of the window clubs pay through the nose in desperation, for once we have started early and im happy about that mate..

Everton will fight relegation but will survive.

Everton have done so much business its like they have players on tap.

They have had to get their players in early before the likes of Lukaku and Barkley leave.

if you think everton doing well is signing the likes of Rooney you're delusional. Rooney couldn get in a team which finished 6th. The players they have signed are average and will get them back into 7 place as the original poster said. If they lose lukaku and barkley they will end up weaker.

Be difficult to judge Everton and other team's transfer dealings until the window closes.
For example, Everton have bought lots of players but do they keep hold of Lukaku and Barkley?
Admittedly, sooner the players are signed the more time the coaches have to work with them Pre season, but the more new players required the harder it may be to integrate them into the team/ squad.
Our starting 11 can compete with anyone in the prem. keep our best players and improve quality of the squad as we are doing (Salah and seemingly other potential quality additions) and we'll continue to compete.

Anyone doubting how well Everton have done in their business is dilusional.
Pickford and Keane have both been linked with Champions League teams, Everton made their move shrewdly.
Klaasen and the striker I have not seen much of but Klaasen has been captain at Ajax and is it Sandro Ramirez from Malaga has done well for a lower team in Spain, a team that made the Champs league a while back.
A GK, CB, CM, ST, acquisitions that are young, with a captain in there, right up the spine of the team.
Rooney might not be the player he was, but it would still be a coup for Everton, shirt sales alone make it a very shrewd piece of business.
Everton were already the most efficient team and beating those below the top 7, but struggled against the bigger teams, these signings will surely help them do that.

On the other hand, we are in a different position, needing to fine tune areas of our squad as opposed to a full renovation, which is why we are not spending as freely, as well as the fact that we cocked up in regards to VVD.

Swishcleaner, Who mentioned anything about Rooney? - for the record I agree, he'd be a terrible signing for any club in my opinion.

teabag apparently him signing for them is fairly imminent. he's been awful for the last 3 years. i hope they do sign him. will fit in perfectly with the rest of their squad :)

{Ed025's Note - pint of bitter for swish..
