I am also excited but for God's sake Harry let us not overhype the team, common sense tells us that not all of our signings are going to instantly hit the ground running . I agree though that given time this has the potential to be a very formidable and lethal midfielder combination . Let's cross our fingers and toes this happens sooner rather than later .

Everyone is sweating over Keita, but how many have seen him play week in week out? I'm not saying I have, but that much for a player that has 1 season in a top flight?

Completely agree fencey. I have never seen a full game of his, only extended highlights at best. But I've not got him down as a £50-70m player. Looks a decent £20m player. Not sure how he'd cope with Britain either. He loves a run and in England, you just get chopped down, tugged back or obstructed. It has frustrated some foreigners to the point where they sulk. Does he have the right mentality to deal with the rough and tumble? I can only guess. Either way, the money is too much. Fans can say "It's not your money" all they like but I'm sorry, yes it is! I buy the merchandise, the TV prescription, the tickets etc. It is our money and I disagree with spending so much of it on a completely unknown quantity who could be a one season wonder.

No MK it's not your money. You spend your money on what ever you like, the club chooses the players it wants to spend it's money on. It stops being your money the moment you hand it over.

Spot on Fencey and MK. Keita is NO 50m player any more than VVD is a 70m CB. I have seen Keita player and tho he is a talented player, he ain't no 50m nor now 70m player by any stretch and those salivating over his arrival need a wake up call cos it just does not make sense. Are these people trying to tell us that a proven player in Europe like Salah will cost half the price of an unproven player with only one season in the German League? That makes no sense and no amount of spin will make that illogical comparison stick.

People also say, "it's not your money". That is a poor excuse for an argument and the club belongs to all of us so I an many of us, don't want us ripped off by a club who will gladly take our money on an unproven entity just so the fans can say that "we spent a load of cash on this player" as banter with rival fans or to just say that this is some "statement of intent" or whatever the heck that means.

I agree the defence needs improving, if we are after a CB I assume we would play 3 at the back - otherwise we would be getting LB sorted I think.
I think there are comparable cheaper options far less than £70 mil for VVD, the same price for a CM seems excessive.
There are talks of Max Meyer CM, everyone has been scouting the under 21 tourno - hopefully us too as there are some talented youngsters there. Maybe cheaper options available who we could develop.
I just want the Defence fixed, our attack is looking in great shape now.
