Eds, I know this was just asked but I wanted to further the discussion with the understanding that most of this cannot be answered.

1. What are doctors looking for in a medical? Obviously things like Hendersons persistent heal injury would be difficult to detect or predict. But are they looking for signs of weakness or previous injury in muscles/ joints most critical to the game? Or are they looking for more serious issues like heart/ lung problems that could cause a player to drop at any second (as seems to happen, sadly, once a year)

2. Assuming something is found. Can this be used in negotiations for a lower price or do teams generally walk away.

3. As a follow-up to 2. Does a failed medical reduce asking price going forward

4. Can teams introduce negative performance bonuses? In other words, teams today often agree to pay the selling club more if a player/ team achieves certain goals. Could they (hypothetically) do the same in reverse and if a player is injured for a certain number of games the price is reduced?

5. Does the medical include fitness/ performance tests to see what the player is capable of (I know there are scouts that watch the player but it's possible they have more potential or are currently struggling with fitness)

I know a lot of this is probably unanswerable, but I just wanted to throw this out there since the whole medical process seems mysterious.

{Ed025's Note - the medical will be very thorough ohio and all that plus more will be investigated including mental well being, if there are any serious problems found then that will result in the termination of any agreement..

Ah I'd hope he is still there or we would of missed out on Luis. Cause he has definite head problems.

Didn't Aly Cissokho famously (or infamously rather) fail a medical on a proposed move, to I want to say Milan, because of his teeth?

Something about potential back problems was the last reason I heard for it.

Still ridiculous for such a one man army.

{Ed001's Note - George Boyd failed a medical at Forest because of his eyesight Forest said.}
