Hi Eds

I have a question concerning Danny Ward.

Is it true that we turned down a bid from Huddersfield Towns that would have seen him join the Terriers on loan?

If that is the truth then I really do have to question the logic in this decision.

Why would you not allow a young, promising Goalkeeper, who contributed immensely to bringing Huddersfield to the Premier League, the chance to play regularly in the Premier League?

And for what, so he can be our third choice and play a total of five games in our season, if that. It makes no sense to me, surely this decision will stifle his development. He has gone on loan twice, Aberdeen and Huddersfield, and impressed. Yet, the chances of him pushing Mignolet or Karius are minimal. Klopp is a huge fan of Karius and will provide the lad opportunities, Mignolet has impressed and made the position his. How does Ward even begin to push those two when Klopp clearly has a preference for Karius?

I thought a third choice keeper was always an experienced veteran who could provide insight and his experience to younger Goalkeepers in the squad, rather than playing. A veteran is far more suited to this role.

I know we have a lot more games this season but do we really need three Goalkeepers? Ward is better than third choice, in my opinion, and Klopp's decision could affect all the hard work he did in progressing to this stage.

Hopefully, my fears are wrong and Ward will join Huddersfield. If not, then I fear we would be depriving Ward of regular football and the chance to play in the Premier League.

Fingers crossed this doesn't happen.

I believe he will go on loan to them and was the reason I was rooting for Huddersfield in the play offs. It's makes perfect sense for him to Joan them on loan this season. It's essentially a win, win win situation for all parties.

Other possibility is Migs doesn't want to be backup and leaves and we keep Ward. when you consider our previous backup was Bogan we could do worse than let Ward play for us in cups and selected other games.

His season long loan ended but it doesn't mean he isn't going back this season. i assume allloan players come back to the club at the end of their loan. unless klopp has something else in store for ward i doubt very much he would stop him going back especially considering the klopp/ Wagner relationship. i actually expect maybe another Liverpool player as well to possibly go there on loan.

I think Huddersfield want to make it permanent but Klopp wants competition. Competition being the operatice word.

If that's the case the young lad needs to keep out of the press knuckle down and show the club that developed hin that he is not a no.3 or a no.2.

There are hundreds of keepers out there who would give tbeir eye teeth to get the chance to challenge for the shirt. Its a once in a lifetime

I don't know why people believe Karius will all of a sudden become first choice. Another Klopp masterpiece in transfer!

I think Form Fit and Function has a man-crush for Klopp 😍.

Zimbo, why would Migs leave? He's not going to be understudy.

Are you another one with Karius posters on your bedroom wall? It must be his looks you are fascinated by, as we've seen nothing of his ability.

Best thing for Ward himself would be to move on, loan moves have benefitted him and given some experience and game time, it would be no good for him to end up as 2nd or 3rd choice, he needs to play and if he comes back would expect him to be 3rd in line. Klopp has made it clear he sees Karius as part of his plans and Migs is in pole position at moment. Something has to give over one of them this summer.

Kloppometer - was only saying there's at least a chance (going by Eds previous comments) that Klopp has Karius in mind to be no.1 next year - and if so Migs may may not be happy

In reality I suspect Ward will get another loan and Migs will retain his spot given his recent form and Karius competing - think that's the fair thing to do given his improvement in form.

Migs had a good 6 months after 3 and half dreadful years. various had a bad few months. perspective needed.

Personally I think Danny ward long term could be excellent so a loan deal to see how he handle PL would be great. if he does good bring him back next season to challenge for number 1 letting one of the others leave.
