I don't think I could give a post more of a thumbs down than for some of you moaning lot! Have a little faith and stop living in fantasy land where we have an unlimited treasure chest! Ed002 has explained thousands of times that the cost to the club is often waaaaay more than the headline transfer fee that is reported in the press!

Some of you lot can be right moaning Murtles at times!

Red Sandman.

But how can spending 50 mil on vvd be more than 40 for mendy. Even if it is your not talking about alot.

Also we havr funds were just pissing them down the drain.

Hate fans who think thete better than the others.

The cost for every other club is also way more than the reported transfer fees. That's not Liverpool specific so it's not an excuse. Everyone pays all the fees related to transfers. Doesn't stop our competitors it shouldn't stop us.

{Ed025's Note - the likes of city, united and chelsea are in a different spending league to liverpool jezza mate..

Liverpool Accounts for the year to May 31 2016: Turnover £302m
Net debt Not stated; bank loan £55m; FSG loan £110m

Manchester United Accounts for the year to June 30 2016 Turnover: £515m. Net debt £261m

Manchester City Accounts for the year to May 31 2016: Turnover £392m. Net debt £11m

Chelsea Accounts for the year to June 30, 2016. Turnover £335m
Net debt Not stated; £1.14bn owed to Abramovich

Arsenal Accounts for the year to May 31, 2016: Turnover £354m
Net debt £6m

UTD may have the most debt but one can see from there turnover they are easily dealing with it.

Abramovich, well, he will make sure that Chelsea sell on players to have enough to to level out incomings. That is the only way he can try not to keep on writing off debt against himself.

Arsenal are a very well managed financially.

City are still looking pretty after the family sponsorship deal of the Ethiad.

Liverpool on the other hand, go crazy in this window and have a bad season could see FSG rolling in their graves by the start of the following season. When running an establishment which has debt which multiplied by 2 exceeds the clubs turnover = not a very good sight. Not very good for Liverpool.

£70m for VVD anyone?

But liverpool arw about to pay 50 million for vvd. On probably a 5 yesr deal at 150k a week and then a 3/ 5 mil signing fee. And 5 mil in agent fees.

Thats avout 100 mil.

The same principle for mendy but his fee at 39. Equals less.
