I'd be more than happy with Brandt as he's Klopps target but Mo Salah right now is the better player by some way. Double figures last year on goals and assists and almost took Roma to the title in their highest points scoring season to date.

He's come on a lot since Chelsea and would be a great option on the wing. There's no African cup of nations this season and tbh we should be able to manage without 1 or 2 players for a few weeks!

Brandt has plenty of potential but if you want immediate impact, Salah is the better choice.

This is of course if the rumours are even true re Mo Salah.

We should just jump straight in with a £100 million offer to Leipzig for Keita, Forsberg and Werner. take it or leave it! 😂😂.

I would also prefer salah, I think he is far more established and would probably suit our system more. Brandt has high potential but he lacks some attributes I would want on the wing, whereas salah doesnt. Salah is more like mane than brandt is and I feel that is what we need. Only problem is he is a player that will eventually go afcon as well so it causes long term problems. I rate both of them and I would be happy with Brandt as he's klopps first choice but I think for the amount we would pay for him, Salah might be better value for money.

That would be the dream, Liver_La, but they will leave it, and probably have a little chuckle. Losing three key players is a bit too much - unless they get banned from the CL, which may change things.

As for the Salah vs Brandt debate, I am torn. Salah has the better numbers, Brandt is younger and does not need to go to AfCon. If we seek a starter, then Salah is our guy, but that would mean we are moving Cou to the midfield, which in term would make Keita's transfer a little less plausible - at least in my opinion. Personally, I would keep Cou on the wing, add Keita to the midfield and use Brandt as a rotation option.

What unnerves me with Salah is that he will be a risk, make no mistake in that. He seems to have matured, but whenever I watched him, I noticed that he has a tendency to miss A LOT - including clear cut chances. And in the prem, he would not get so many opportunities. On the other hand, he is versatile and perfect for our interchanging front 3. I think that in away games he will cause the opposition nightmares. I don't recall if I ever watched him against a packed defense though. A quick browse of Roma forums indicates that he tends to get ineffective and lost in such situations, but on the other hand he is surprisingly proficient in scoring with his head, which might be crucial for breaking a deadlock, IF we finally bring in a good crosser on one of the FB positions.

Lastly, some rumours that Fosberg has indeed asked to leave Red Bull, but I don't recall us getting linked with him except a brief period around the turn of the year. If I recall, he is a different type from Salah though, better long shot but lower pace. Much more creative - which might classify him as more of a Coutinho than a Mane type of player. Or am I wrong, haven't really watched him very often?

Just for reference, Salah really struggled to settle in England according to ED002, which seemed to be the main reason why we sold him.

I can just see the season implode when Kieta, Salah and Mane head off to the African cup of nations, this season all it took was Mane to go.

Drigan, I'd say you got Forsberg pretty much right. Wouldn't compare him to Couts, though. He is more of a hard working winger/ midfielder. His absolute strengths are passing/ creating, workrate, pressing/ tactical awareness and smartness. Don't think he's afraid to get stuck in there a bit, but has not really a mean streak. No Mané pace, but not slow either.

Salah probably struggled to settle because he was playing for Chelsea. How many times have Chelsea bought a top attacking midfielder/ winger and eventually sold him because he wasn't getting any opportunities. Salah would thrive in a team like Liverpool or Tottenham.

{Ed002's Note - No, that is not thereason.}

In that case we'll lose all width in the side for up to 4 weeks, at the busiest time of the season, every other season. You seem to have to forgot what happened this January.
